The restaurant is well situated in a courtyard near the top of Jonker Walk and is pleasantly lit with greenery but the food is awful - and the wine was off but the waiters still insisted it had to be paid for since the bottle had been opened!

It is a nice attempt by the owner to create a F&N outlet with minimal effort but fails badly on quality of the food and level of service however friendly they try to be.

Walk on.....

1st of all i will like to say the food sucks and the service too.the waiter said to me they have the best western food in melaka but after eating its just normal only and u can get that at every MAMAK. I was there at around 9.30pm the waiters send the food late and the sizzling chicken is not hot at all. pls change your chef.there are more batter chef's around.

It's the oldest building in Jonker Walk built in in the year 1673, hence the name of the Bistro. Served Western, Local and Nyonya cuisine. Very good value for money and the atmosphere is simple just awesome, with the building dating back to the Dutch era. And the building is being preserved under the UNESCO Heritage Site. You must wonder around the whole building both upstairs and downstairs to appreciate this magnificant and beautiful architectual. Beer is reasonably priced and one can enjoy the resident band in attendance every night from 8pm onwards. One can also stroll down the ever popular Jonker Walk before or after meal especially during weekends. A must visit restaurant/bistro and area if you are short of time, that's the only place to be where every tourist hang out and have a good time.

It is located in a lovely old building, with a great courtyard that offers some peece in the oh so busy chinatown. My husband ordered some traditional food and could only compliment it all, apparently brilliant.
Unfortunately I suffer from a gluten allergy and had to go for simple safe steak, ordered with no sauce, the plate came with suace, we sent it back and the plate came back, the same one with obvious traces of the sauce wiped, some leunder the veggies....I did not want to make a fuss and tried to avoid soiled parts but got very very sick..So for those suffering of allergies, be aware it is not taken too seriously... but you could still enjoy the building and there was some live music in the evening. for those who can eat anything concentrate on the nonya food.
Not that cheap.
