Location for this place is great. Within walking distance of most sight seeing places and the masa malam(night market).

Room is spacious enough and room rates are economical. The hostel is run by an elderly couple. Pretty friendly people if you ask me.

There is a cosy chill out/ tv area on the second floor if you are keen to socialise with other nationalities. No breakfast though you might need to get your own.

All in all, simple, cheap and no fuss, just the way i like it.

Room Tip: Going to Asean countries, you are always better off with mosquitoes repellent.

We came to Melaka to see the UNESCO Heritage site as I'm sure most people do, typically as a budget conscious travellers my partner & I tend to stay in places like Chinatown where there is generally a good selection of cheaper hotels & backpacker style accommodation. On arriving in Melaka we were surprised to find much of the accommodation around "Jonker Street" & Chinatown full, along our travels we met up with other travellers in the same predicament eventually we found somewhere for the night however it was way more than we wanted to pay & fairly poor quality for the price.

The next day after crossing over the river & heading toward the oceanfront area we stumbled across this little gem the "Travellers Planet" the hotel building is relatively new & run by a very helpful lady called Anna. Whilst you are not directly in the heritage site her smart, clean & well run hotel is literally 2 minutes walk from many of the main attractions & only one third of the price of the other areas. They offer varying room configurations, free fast wifi, breakfast (basic but all you need to start the day), cooking facilities & a security lock door for Reception meaning only guests have access to the hotel.

We highly recommend Traveller Planet the money you save by staying here you can then spend on some of the fine foods & shopping that Melaka has to offer.

Room Tip: One of the benefits of staying here is there are no religious centres nearby waking you up at 5 or 6...

I booked a room for 8 people and stayed there for 4 nights. The room is tidy and good for value. Really enjoyed the free breakfast and the space in the common area. Staff are very helpful and nice overall. Would recommend this hostel for those who wish to enjoy Melaka.

We stayed at the hostel for 2 nights on our way to Singapore. The room was clean and good size, shared bathrooms a bit shabby but equipped with hot shower. Location was decent enough, about 15 mins walk from Dutch Square and Jonker street where you have to go to get some good food as there is not much around the hostel itself. Breakfast was basic - toast and jam, coffee and tea available throughout the day and you can use the fridge to store your food. Wifi was available in our room and was ok.

The owner, Anna, was very nice. The only real negative was the woman that seemed to live there as well - very rude and unpleasant, not the kind you'd like to share any common space with. Hopefully, she was just a guest and moved on.

Did not feel very welcomed at the place, and were not given any introduction to the surroundings, the facilities etc. The location is not very good but decent - 15 minutes walk to the central part of Melaka. I was a bit annoyed by the fact that I couldn't wear my shoes inside, and felt that my feet got very dirty by walking around barefoot in the entire building.

We were given the wrong room at first - booked a room without private toilet, but was given one with. Instead of accepting the mistake and letting us stay in that room for night (we only stayed one night), we were moved to another room after checking into the first room.

I think it is worth mentioning, that you have to purchase toilet paper, which is not freely available at the common toilets. Further, it seems that you have to pay extra for top bed sheets.

Breakfast is as could be expected for that price level: toast, butter and jam - and coffee and tea.

The atmosphere here is welcoming and staff Anna goes out of her way to look after you. Rooms are clean even under beds, toilets, showers and share kitchen are kept clean. Great place to just chill, have your own space or share extra large lounge area, this is my second stay and I will be back again, thanks
