“Great Rooms in Malaka Malaysia”
Reviewed May 29, 2012

Really friendly chilled quest house in Malaka, cheap prices mainly shared bathrooms some slightly more expensive rooms with en-suite. Very clean and tidy. Great communal area to sit and use internet etc. The owner is very friendly and welcoming and you can help yourself to tea and coffee. Breakfast was included when we were there (not sure if that still stands). I would recommend.

Waiting to return to the US, I stayed at Travllers Planet for 9 days., Shamu and staff offered typical Malay hospitality and service to their guests. Around the guesthouse are expressions in Malay and English, I had a huge spacious room with window and fan, where I could spread out all my belongings. Very different from most hostels in Melaka which have no windows. Also, this hostel is located just 10 minutes away but out of the very congested Chinatown area in a quiet area.. Also this area has an alternative weekend night market, which is much less crowded and offers very good bargains.. Definitely stay here if you want excellent service, super friendly staff, and large spacious accommodation.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We had a double room with ac and attached bathroom for a very reasonable price. It was a very big and clean room. There is a livingroom wich is very cozy and they have cheap beer. 6 ringgit for a Tiger can. The men who work there are very friendly. We could recommend this hostel to everyone!

Run by Guna and George, both good guys with a love of beer, conversations, and helping travelers. Room was basic but clean, and AC worked well, good location. And Includes basic breakfast.

Recommend this place if you want to meet other travels, and save money.

We stayed one night in a room with aircon and bathroom. Then we stayed two nights in a room with fan and shared bathroom. We don`t stay in shared bathroom most places but it was no problem her. Very cleen:)The place have free breakfast and coffee/tea all day. The breakfast is simple but will start your day without going out. If you want more advanced food, go to a store and buy what you want and store it in the fridge at the kitchen. You can also use the kitchen to cook your own food. The staff is very friendly and allways around. They are happy to help with planning the rest of your trip in Malaysia and have a lot of good tips and advice:) This was a very nice place for our kid. In the livingroom they have tv with movies/DVD for kids and some games:)
We have now travelled for 6 months in Asia and overall we liked our stay at Travellers planet:)

Me and my friend stayed in Melaka for 4 days at Travellers Planet. I think its the best place we have stayed yet on our trip (4 months in asia now).
The staff is really nice and helpful. We played card games some nights and just had a great time! If you want any tip for your next stop they have a lot of good suggestions.
The rooms are really nice, clean and fresh. We had one on the corner so we had 2 windows which made the room very light. Most hotels we stayed in before had been pretty dark.
Good central location with a night market (I think it was open friday-sunday) 100 meters down the street. It´s a calm neighborhood with lots of restaurants and near to the big malls. You can walk pretty much anywhere from the hotel.
It´s a great place to stay! :)
