Very nice hostel with a helpful friendly host. Beds are brand new and very comfortable, amazingly clean throughout and great location, easy walk to Jonker Street and river etc.

The owner is a young guy that opened the place in late 2010. He's very friendly and the hostel had the best mattresses I've seen in ANY hostel so far (hotel quality). Go there if you want a good night's sleep and a friendly staff for a competitive price!

The hostel is great for touring cyclist. The rooms have a bunk bed on top and the a living area below the bunk bed that has a sofa. I can park my bicycle at the living area. The Melaka River is behind the guest house, and most attractions are within a short ride. This is a hostel so bring your own towel and toiletries. If you need wifi, don't stay at the rooms near the toilets. They are far from the lobby where I suspect the wifi base station is, and reception can be poor.

My trip there with my sister, we were lost as we got mixed up with the names of the road, so we called up the manager there, Kent and he came and pick us up with a bicycle and help us get a parking, which was very very helpful as the road was really congested. He showed us the room, the super clean toilet and the most awesome river view that we could hangout. Kent was very very helpful showing us ways to get around for food and shopping area. The room was clean and very comfortable, very cozy. We were given a card to access, which provide us with sufficient security especially for us 2 girls. The place is just next to Jonker Street which is a plus for us who just want to walk around. Overall nice place to stay n hang. Thanks Kent!

the hostel is operate by a pompous and nasty chinese man in his early thirty who accused me of not paying for one of the nights i stayed when i'd paid everything todate and showed my passport. The manager expect you to stay just one night, sleep and then leave. Perhaps that is why most of the guests here are from neighbouring towns of KL, Selangor - chinese who are noisy and inconsiderate who brought along their babies, small children who then ran around screaming, peeking into your cubicle when you sleep. the other guests are the manager's friends and relatives and you hardly see any backpackers

Not suitable for serious backpacker. there is no chill-out areas for fellow traveller to sit, chit chat and exchange stories. in the so-called sitting areas there is a small sofa and two chairs which are used by the manager and his family and friends instead. If the manager does not like you he will hide the shower cream and shampoo in the shower room. the shower room is forever wet, bunch of hair stucked on the water hole and toilet paper was littered on the floor. Internet connection is very bad and i suspect the manager switch it off when he see you using the internet for too long even if you are using your own laptop.

The only good things about this hostel are its location which is near china town and the bed are slightly bigger then those double decker bed in other hostel. the bed are clean now of course since it is new.

At first, we do not supply any shampoo or shower cream to our guest and they always bring their own. Thus, we didn't have any intention to hide either shampoo or shower cream.
This place is for foreigners who would like to miggle with locals.
In fact, the internet connection will not be strong enough sometimes if too many users but connection is always on all the time for our guest. At the same times, our guest is allowed to use the shared pc.

However, we always keep the place clean!

The memory I got after staying in sayang sayang is the friendliness of the guest house owner who really impressed me.
Services he gave is 100% I can say. He introduced many nice foods to us and care of our safety. Right from our arrival, as we do not familiar with the place as well as its location, the owner came out to accommodate us by his old-style bicycle which he also renting for guest. It is a waste that we couldn't make it to cycle. Think to make it next time.^^
In terms of the price, it is really affordable that you can enjoy comfortable without the burden of financial.
Besides, sayang sayang is clean and simple where you feel really relax here. And it is especially relaxing when you go out to the backyard where is the Malacca river.
If you asked me what problem is it? I would say the owner is too friendly and nice ...^^...
