nice location walking distance from Jonker walk (jalan hang jebat).
Room with shared toilet and thin wall (but we still able to get good sleep as we were too tired).
Nice river view at the back of the place where you can just sit there and enjoy the night view.
Nice place to stay and the staffs are helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: choose the room in the second floor.

Overall the place is clean and just nice to stay if you are bachelor. I don't recommend for family or old age citizen. This is because you will need to climb the staircase to reach your sleeping area. Location of this guest house is centrally located and walking distance to almost all the tourist attraction point. The price during weekday is RM48 and RM68 for weekend. Also, they provide free wifi. :)

Room Tip: All the room are the same

Likes:
- the male (bald a little, still young) receptionist is helpful with food and direction information and friendly attitude
- clean and silent at night (i come one night on Tuesday)
- the sofa in my small rent room

Dislikes:
- the price is 65 Rm due to school holidays from Mid of Nov till end of Dec. Even though we checked in super late 8pm, and the rooms are almost available, mostly a half, the dorms are totally avail. I dealt for the rent of 2 bikes of that night (2 hours), biked out for dinner and city visit. :D. That's why I love the male receptionist
- i want toilet more clean and smell good :((. It's clean from dirt, not from insects and cockroach or some kind of small animals' outputs, spider nests.
- Take a bath, and you'll find it difficult to be comfortably showered w/o making cloth wet.

Next time, I may check the price first. Check for some budget hotels with attached toilet, if not, may book the sisters of Sayang: Jiong, Sayang near the Church...

My girlfriend and I found this place on here and booked it online for our first night in Melaka. We planned to stay longer than a night but we like to book just our first night or two to be safe then look around etc when we are there to decide where to stay for the rest of the time! We were greeted by a friendly member of staff who was keen to answer any questions we had. We looked around and it seemed clean and nice and we found out that it was a busy time in Malaysia as it was school holidays and also there was a performing arts festival on in Melaka that weekend so we wanted to book the place for the next few nights, however it was full. We were glad to hear they had a 'Sayang Sayang 2' down the road, it was slightly more expensive but we booked it through the friendly staff member for the next 2 nights.
The shared bathrooms here were clean and warm water, and there were plenty of them. Most of the cubicles were quite spacious and they thought of the little details such as a pair of slippers outside each one and covering loo roll to avoid it getting soaked by the shower!
You can also borrow dvds and there is free wifi. They have made the most of the space they have available by making the rooms 'double decker' as in they are thin but have a 'downstairs' with a sofa and little table then a ladder up to where the bed is. Is works well enough. The rooms are very small but it is a hostel and they are comfy enough to go online or watch a dvd on the laptop on the sofa.
Overall it is clean, safe and friendly, it is not the cheapest place in Melaka but is a safe bet.

To be fair, it is a hostel. So, shared toilets, bathrooms, washing area, tv room, and internet service, and tiny room were expected. What out of my expectation- Free wifi, airconditional room, clean and tidy layout, and friendly staff.

I had the chance to stay there, together with my students who joined photo marathon at Melaka. The location, very good- by foot, 3 minutes to Jonker Street, 5 to the Stadthuys, 10 to A' Famosa Fort and Quayside. Plus, we can enjoy the nice view on Melaka River from the back of the hostel.

With RM40++ per room per night (depend on the day of the week), we cannot demand for more about the place anymore. If you wish to get somewhere cheap with good environment, that hostel is second to none.

Two more things to add- the lady at the receptionist counter really helpful in almost anything- passports, bus schedule, taxi, directions, food, even taking photo. Secondly, towel, soap and shampoo are not provided. Anyway, we can buy from the supermart nearby the hostel.

Room Tip: Try to get to the upstairs. The ground floor's rooms are not so noise proof, due to the sliding...
