From the outside, it is easy to miss this place. It opens at 11am and a wonderful man who goes by the name of Mr.Goh has given us a very nice tour around this ancient building which has been painstakingly restored. This place is recommended for everybody who is a Malaysian (and non-Malaysians too!). Its hard for us kids to phantom how the people in the past live and we should at least learn some history which are not in our textbooks.

Admission is free and donations are welcomed here.

“Heritage”

Visit first N°8 Heeren Street to get a comprehensive understanding of the house layout. Other houses offer more refined interiors and wealth but the beauty of the way of life is N°8 Heeren Street.

not bad, but we are not allowed to take any photos. and yeah, the best thing is it is free to visit. The guy who seems like the tour guide is good in explaining about the details of the house.

“Lovely space and staff”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

My friend and I happened upon this house while wandering through Melaka and decided to go in because I'd read something about it. There is no entrance fee and the staff is extremely welcoming and eager to share their story. One of them sat with us in the courtyard to tell us stories about the history of Melaka and the style of building they're trying to preserve. It's definitely worth a stop in (and there's a donation jar in front to help these sweet people with their passion).
