We have just returned from a four night stay ( Tuesday thru Saturday) at the Casa del Rio and overall had a fantastic time.We had a room overlooking the river, construction noise was minimal and was only during the day, at night the river came alive with tour boats etc. The room was large, was serviced twice a day, we always had fresh towels given to us at night.
We ate in all of the restaurants, River Grill, River Cafe and also had snacks at the bar, the service was faultless on all occasions and the staff made an effort to remember the childrens names and would go out of their way to make them fresh pancakes at breakfast.
The hotel also organised their minivan to take us to the local shopping centres and arranged a time to come and collect us again.
The rooftop pool was closed whilst we were there but we used the pool at the apartment complex next door and that was great. I think the rooftop pool has reopened now.
The hotel is in a perfect location for walking to any of the main attractions in Melacca, Jonker st is just minutes away.
Thankyou Casa Del Rio for making our stay so pleasant and relaxing.

Stayed in the Casa for the 4th time and the service, hospitality and rooms were great again. We booked 3 River View Deluxe rooms. We checked in too early but the staff made sure we all had our rooms around 3 pm. We did spend the afternoon in the pool on the roof to enjoy sun and views. Only disturbing issue was a group of guys and gals drinking and smoking in the water. When we asked the bartender if that shouldn't be prohibited he said: they pay a lot for the room here and I cannot say a thing. This made our pool stay a bit less comfy as he also mentioned this to the group. Their reaction was to make comments about me just being a foreigner in the company of an Asian working girl. (my Malay girlfriend, how insulting!!) I was ready to start something but my girlfriend did stop me. The pool staff should have reacted stronger to this as they changed and left the hotel after their pool party and jumped in cars. (after a good bottle of Vodka and lot's of beers)
The rest of our stay was simply fantastic again. The relaxed evening in the bar, the great beds and especially breakfast the next morning. Thanks for this Andrew and team!!!

Room Tip: Take River View. The view on the old town at night is great.

We booked through agoda.com, one deluxe room for one night. We were instantly amazed by the lobby. The check-in took a bit longer than expected. Yes they sit you down, give you sorbet and a towel but after sitting on a bus for 5 hours i just wanted to get to the room, not wait another 20 minutes to check in. The rooms were extremely spacious. There was a walkway to the room, the bathroom was huge and i especially love the showerhead. We felt extremely spoilt staying here and loved every minute of it. The location is also fantastic and within walking distance to jonker street. There was a wide range of choices for breakfast and included one main from the a la carte menu. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Wonderful service from the moment i walked into the hotel. Checking in was at the lobby sofa....but not before being given nice cold towel and a serving of their home-made ginger sorbet.. After that i was personally shown to my room by the very helpful staff. The moment i stepped into the room, i was totally impressed by what i saw...the room was truly gorgeous. The washroom is very big...the bathtub can literally double up as an extra bed. Everything was just...wonderful. I would really love to go back there if ever i come back to Melacca again.

My company decided to put me in this hotel which I had no clue about the property. Indeed it was a great surprise from the time that I checked in until checked out everything was perfect. I should say that this is The Hotel to stay on the next visit to Melaka. Located within walking distance to Jonker Street, with large rooms with bath tubs and rain forest shower. All the amenities in the room reflecting the local culture including welcome 'fruits' ( actually a dessert ). Had one of the best Nasi Goreng in the hotel late night and the breakfast spread is just superb and kudos to the F&B team led by Jarrod Ang and Ariva.... Rooms are cleaned impeccably everyday and whenever I mess my items, the maids arrange back neatly .... Thank you for making my stay so beautiful.... Will be back soon .....

Room Tip: Ask for the room with river view .....

Stayed in the deluxe room for 1 night. The rooms were spacious and the decorations reflected the herritage of Malacca. The hotel also provided many pleasantly suprising touches. At check in, the room was clean, cool and bright. Light jazz music automatically comes on at the insertion of the room key card. The room levels are only accessible using your room key card, enhancing hotel security.
In the evening, room service provides a wonderful turn down service. They clean up the room and replace any towels that were used in the afternoon. Light a refreshing aroma scent, place bottles of water next to water goblets and remote controls and light reading on the night stand.

There are many personal touches such as providing a popular Malaccan delicacy - the Onde Onde in the room as well as the weather report! All in all, the personal touches really warms the heart and this hotel is strongly and highly recommended!

Next to the lobby, the library is a great place to relax after a hot walk around Malacca town. It has coffee and tea making facilities and is a great place to unwind.

On a not so positive note: I loved the scent of the aroma scent and wanted to purchase it from the gift shop. Unfortunatelly they had run out of it and the sales girl was not very helpful on how i can get hold of one.

The first thing that strikes you is the lovely Mediterranean aesthetics of this hotel - one of the most beautifully interesting hotels I've been to within Malaysia, and one which the historic city of Melaka deserves. I had a meeting at this hotel and things were arranged well. It was Ramadhan as well at the time and there was convenient sahur at the restaurant.

The room we had was spacious and comfortable, great bed, beautiful bathroom, and a nice little balcony to sit in with tea and a book. The little nyonya-themed book of short stories was a great touch. I tried the restaurant once for dinner - can't remember the name now, but it overlooks the river - and the food was excellent.

My only gripe was that I had, on check-in, asked for the F&B bills to be split from the room and meeting charges, which the receptionist said can and will be done, but it was not done. And the check-out was very slow. Also, there are a lot of steps throughout the hotel - even within the hotel room, so be careful about tripping.
