I had picked Jonker Boutique hotel for its location and its proximity to the antique shops and the straits Chinese museums. The hotel is a refiurbished 3 storey mid century building and I find it charming , in line with the character of the Jonker Walk area. My room was clean, comfortable and new. The staff was friendly, welcoming and provided good tips on what to do in melaka. The hotel was certainly value for money. There are many good eateries and attractions within a short walking distance of the hotel. I went to Melaka by bus and the taxi ride from melaka Sentral to the hotel was about 15 minutes. Apart from the weekends where I was told there is a night market, the area can be quiet in the evening as most of the shops and attractions close by 6 pm. This is a good hotel to stay If you are into architecture , history and the Straits Chinese/peranakan culture as the the immediate surrounding area exudes old world charm.
