“Great location, friendly staffers”
Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

It was just a day getaway over the weekend for my family of 6 (including a toddler), and discovered this hotel thanks to TripAdvisor. The location was perfect and the entire booking process was a breeze, thanks to the lovely team managing the place.

The rooms were just lovely, and with very good finishings too. The food at the hotel cafe downstairs is on the pricey side (but you're in Jonker, lots more to eat elsewhere!) but we gave it a try, and it was great! Very good tasting meals, and of course attentive service too.

Walking the night market which is on during the weekends in fun (heard that they're shutting it down...whatever for! Hope it's just hearsay). Lots to eat and see, and having the hotel just at the end of the road is perfect - walking the street can get super hot, so rushing back to some cool air-conditioning is divine!

The only pain point I had was that we had rooms on the 2nd floor, so walking up the narrow stairs with luggage and a baby can be a drag. Good exercise!

Will surely come here again.

Was in Melaka over a weekend. Stayed here for one night.

Pros :
(1) Location
The location of Jonker Boutique Hotel is hard to beat ! It is right at the start of Jonker Walk (aka Jalan Hang Jebat). Step out of the hotel and you are on Jonker Walk. It could not be more convenient as a base to explore Jonker Walk (photos attached)

(2) Great Rooms
Being a boutique hotel, the rooms at the hotel are not your cookie cutter room design that are the same for all the rooms. Each room has a different look. Unfortunately did not take a photo of my travel companions' room. Attached photos of my room, which was a Grand Deluxe Room. Not forgetting the rooms were well maintained and clean

(3) Free Wi-Fi
There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Password sheet is in the room. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. Every establishment should be offering complimentary Wi-Fi

Cons:
(1) Road Noise
The only con I could say is that being on Jonker Walk and Jonker Walk is closed to traffic on Friday/Saturday and transformed into one big Night Market, there will be road noise if you are an early or light sleeper

And as the hotel is next to the performance stage on Jonker Walk, and there are performance on the stage over the weekend (photo attached), it does get noisy. And many of the street stalls on Jonker Walk open till midnight. But I am not complaining, makes for a great atmosphere.

All in all, a real gem of a hotel. Would stay there again for sure if I am in Melaka. & recommend it to anyone. More so if you want to check-out and soak up the atmosphere on Jonker Walk on a weekend.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper and road noise disturbs you, consider asking for the rooms that do not fa...

From the friendly welcome, to the lovely room, spacious, cool and perfectly located. We selected on the basis of previous reviews and it certainly lived up to expectation. The staff were informative. The wooden stairs were fine but may deter the less mobile. The room spacious, a perfect oasis away from the heat and humidity outside.

Like what the others have said, the location is really, just at the start of the night market. However there is a stage next to the hotel and it can be quite noisy till late night. Also the hotel has no lift so have to carry all our luggage up the stairs.

Stay would have been wonderful except for horrible night. Selected this hotel based on reviews and great location. Rooms are comfortable for family of 5 and day front desk staff during are very friendly and helpful. But unable to sleep as karaoke pub across the street is blasting music! Tolerated until 1am as sole night staff/guard informed that noise would end by then however it is 1.45am and music and singing is still blaring. Hotel helpless to do anything, told that I just have to wait it out.

Room Tip: Request for room not facing main entrance
