“Awesome hotel and friendly staff!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

My family had our first trip abroad together to Malacca over the weekend, and we had a wonderful time staying at Jonker Boutique Hotel!

This is definitely a great choice if you're looking for a place that is easily accessible and convenient. Situated right smack in the middle of Jonker Street, food and shopping was readily available from morning till late night.

The team at Jonker Boutique Hotel was very warm and friendly. Right from the beginning when I emailed them for a quotation, a quick response was received and all further queries were promptly addressed. During our stay, recommendations on good food places, arrangement of transport and special requests were all entertained.

Once again, a big thanks to the lovely team on behalf of my family for all your kind assistance and hospitality during our short stay with you over the weekend. We had a very enjoyable time and will certainly choose your hotel again as our preferred choice for future visits to Malacca!

If you are looking for something different, this is the hotel to consider. They renovated the old shophouses into a cosy, modern boutique hotel. The Location is great, just next to the Jonker night market. They have plenty of parking space, which is very convenient especially for those who are not familiar with Melaka's coupon parking system. The stairs are abit narrow but this is expected for a boutique hotel. Definitely would stay at this gotel again.

Very friendly staff. Has an adjoining restaurant which is convenient for a breakfast if you need to get up early.
The hotel is right in front of a stage that is set up for some loud singing on weekend during the night market. It singing lasts from 7pm to 10 pm.
Otherwise the hotel is in a good location with very clean rooms. Wifi works great. And easy walking distance to the historical sites.
Note the long distance bus station is about 10 minutes by taxi.

Thankyou to the Jonker Boutique ! Jeffery was amazingly helpful and professional - his service alone was worthy of 5 stars. We are a family of 5 and enjoyed our stay. The room was sufficient in size to feel comfortable. Excellent location

Room Tip: Rooms are a little noisy on weekends due to old folks karioke stage and night market on the door ste...

The Jonker Boutique hotel is situated at the beginning of Jonker Walk, which puts it right in the heart of the main tourism center. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the rooms are large for the area.
There isn't an elevator and the stairwells are narrow, but that's just the period architecture. The rooms were large and spacious and could use a bit more drawer/storage space. My biggest criticism of the place is the bed. The mattress is a little hard but the duvet/blanket is thoroughly too warm for the climate, requiring you to turn the AC down to 22° to stay comfortable. I asked for a topsheet instead. Also the hot water turned tepid while filling the bathtub.
Still, one can't beat the location and for the price, it's a good deal.
Just beware that on weekends, the night market closes off access for cars to Jonker. So one has to drive round the back to enter the hotel parking lot.

Room Tip: I'd choose the 1st floor if you can't climb stairs or have a lot of luggage. The stairwells...

My husband and I stayed there for 3D2Ns and it was great. The room was very clean and cozy. We parked our car at the back of the hotel and the gates will be lock every night. So we are pretty much do not need to worry. It was raining on our first day and the whole Jonker Street was very quiet. It was a rare treat for us. Second night was pretty busy and noisy but I wouldn't mind. If you read about Jonker Street then you will be very much expecting the noise of the busy street.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Melaka roads are pretty tough so you have to do your homework before driving in. The staffs guided us very well and we dont really have any problems driving around.

However, please "do not" dine at the Jonker Cafe. The food and coffee are really bad there. Ive ordered a Mee Siam and turn out it was too spicy for me. When I ask for a change, the chef just diluted the noodles with soup to wear off the spice. Not good when you are competing with all the rest of the restaurants along the street.
