I went to Melaka for 5 days in August for a conference. Courtyard at Heeren was a pleasant place to stay.
The location is excellent, being just a minute walk to Jonker Street and perhaps a 5-10 minute walk from museums and the old Portuguese fort. Near the hotel are loads of restaurants. Directly nextdoor is a great burger joint - Baboon House - which is number 1 in Melaka on Tripadvisor at the moment.
Staff at Heeren are excellent. Especially Doro who provided superb service. Level of English is really good and everyone is willing to help.
The breakfast is provided across the road and is decent. There is nice buffet with fruit, cereals, yoghurt and a variety of cooked food options. Eggs are cooked to order.
Bathroom is pretty good.
Only two issues were: (1) Water in bathroom doesn't stay hot for as long as I would've liked and (2) Aircon doesn't cool the room right down.
I looked at a range of other hotels when I was wandering about Melaka and am VERY glad I stayed here.
