“Great service!”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

I am a little late in writing this review, but I think they deserve this review none the less. This is my 2nd visit to Courtyard this year...

Was at Courtyard on 14 Dec 2012 with my bf. Wanted to check in and to my horror, I booked a room on 15 Dec instead of 14! But the hotel staff were really nice and they tried whatever they could to make us feel settled. After some time, they found that they did have a room but it is at the cafe side without an attached bathroom and toilet. We were a little apprehensive at first but the staff told us that they would bring us to the room and take a look first to see if we like it.

So off we went to check out the room. The room was big enough for 4 pax and it was quite cosy despite not having an attached bathroom and toilet. We took the room and the hotel waived off our wrong booking.

We walked around the weekend market at Jonker Street and came back with some food at about 10ish in the night. As some of the food was bought quite early, it had already turned cold by that time. Since our room was above the cafe, we went down to try our luck. There were 2 staff who were actually off duty at that time, sitting by the cafe and doing their own things. We asked if they could help us warm up the food and boil some water, and they treated us very well despite being off duty at 10pm!

It was indeed a GREAT stay at Courtyard despite the booking mistake we made. We would like to thank the staff at Courtyard for making our stay really enjoyable! =)

The moment we arrived at the boutique hotel we were greeted by friendly & hospitable staff. Whilst checking in we were offered guava juice which was wonderful considering the hot and humid weather. We had a family room which was simply sensational. The bedroom furnishings reflected the peranakan culture of yesteryears. The bathroom area is cleverly partitioned from the bedroom and is contemporary in design. The rest of the hotel is well furnished with water features, plants, coi fishes, and peranakan type ornaments littered around the building. It provides a feeling of how one lives back in time. Breakfast is in a separate building across the hotel. We absolutely loved the breakfast. They serve local coffee (called kopi-o) and a mix of peranakan / malaysian food as well as western food, cereals and food. Step outside of the hotel and you're at Heeron Street which is parallel to Jonker Street where the night markets are on Fridays and Saturdays. During our stay we found their staff always friendly, helpful and hospitable.

We arrived in Melaka after an long and arduous 8-hour bus journey from Lumut and were greeted by the friendly staff, who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Offered icy-cold guava juice (perfect for the hot heat), we were swiftly checked in and taken to our room on the first floor up a rustic wooden staircase. Our room was nothing but brilliant. The boutique hotel has won an array of awards for design and it is evident why. The family room was a perfect mix of contemporary and the old peranakan style which has made Melaka such a popular and interesting tourist destination. The bathroom is sleek but functional and the bohemian-like vibe of the room (with it's ornate and quirky tiles, floaty bed canopy and cool art) adds to the whole creative and delightful atmosphere of the place. The rest of Courtyard @ Heeren gives off the same calming feeling, with serene courtyards, fishponds, water-features, plants and very melakan antiques dotted around the converted shophouse. And if you aren't too mesmerised by it all, you can venture out to all the action just around the corner. It is less than a 5-minute walk to the famous Jonker Street and just a tad longer to the Dutch-built Stadthuys and the pretty canals of the old town. As for breakfast, it is eaten in another converted building diagonally across from the hotel. Taking much of the same atmosphere as Courtyard, the breakfast is perfectly adequate with just enough choice needed for the size and type of accomodation. Melaka is a charming little city filled with lots of quirky artist residences and craft /antique shops and our stay at Courtyard @ Heeren was the icing on the cake. We also strongly recommend going next door to 'The Baboon House' where you can get the most scrumptious burger ever!

Just got back from a two nights' stay at Courtyard@Heeren Malacca. We got the good reviews of this hotel from friends and decided to give it a try and boy were we impressed! It is a very quaint boutique hotel, nicely decorated to give the peranakan feel to the place and the staff were super great!!

The place is as reflected in the photos, nice small place with only two storey of a total of only 14 rooms. (therefore you need to book way in advance if you are coming during their peak holiday season)

It is located just a 3 minute walk to Jonker food street...and therefore super easy to navigate around if you are not going to the shopping complexes and just around the jonker area... Breakfast is also served in a shophouse right across the street and beautifully decorated too...

It is truly a gem in the heart of the peranakan cultural place in Malacca. Do give it a try!

We had a family room at F3, with an additional bed. carpark is just behind the hotel, and there is night guard for your car. Upon arrival, friendly and attentive counter staffs served us with welcome drinks. They also provide ice water in the main hall for guest to help themselves while sitting around. Just 5 mins walk down the corner you will be in the middle of Jonker street. Breakfast was delicious with local and western spread with many kinds of sandwiches toast. There is only 2 storey, so getting a room upstair is preferred for lesser noise create from upstair. For those with big luggage then better stay at ground-level, as there is only staircase. Remember to bring along some multi plug in case you have mutiple equipments to charge. I only can found 2 wall sockets, and 1 is not working. Its a value for money kind of boutique hotel. I will be back and sure will spread good words around...

We spent two nights here at the beginning of November. There was three of us so we had a double room with an extra bed.It was an internal room extremely well appionted, clean and attractive decor.Staff were very kind and helpful. We felt it was very much like a Riad with its internal lay out.Breakfast was taken just a little way up the road at Courtyard Cafe and this again was a really attractive venue with a really good breakfast.
