Randomly chose the restaurant and it was delicious. Staff friendly. Went back for a second meal and it was consistently good.

My first time trying out Nancy's kitchen and i must admit that they serve really good nonya food... best so far as to the rest that i had tried in Melaka. The shop is in a small little lane which you might missed out if its your first visit. A must try Chicken Candlelight... A dish which we enjoyed very much...

Nancy's kitchen seemed to be a popular place in Malacca and after I ate there I could see why.
If you want to try authentic nonya food then this is the place to come to.

The decor is nothing to write home about, in fact it is quite basic. However the food makes up for that in spades. Plus they also sell local snacks if you want to take home a food memory.

On the basis of our well-known brand of guidebook raving about this place as the best restaurant in Melaka we tried it out. It's OK. It probably IS the best in Melaka but I think that says more about the quality of food in Melaka than anything else. Although this family run place does do peranakan cuisine pretty well our group thought it was more of an interesting experience than a top quality meal.

By all means try it, you probably won't find better in the town, but I've had better peranakan food at random hawker centres or cafés in Singapore.

The laksa isn't bad and the prawns with banana flower are nice too, as were the spring roll starters, but the ayam buah keluak & candlenut chicken were really oily and contained a few too many chickenfeet for our tastes.

Overall we were happy we tried it but left feeling a little disappointed that we didn't find the food to be anything special.

We were after some Nonya food and had Nancy's recommended to us. Luckily we got there late, because that meant we didn't have to queue at the door to get in. We had a local pork and tofu dish with beautiful spices, and an okra dish that was delicious. Lovely to watch the popiah being made at the front door.
