“Delicious Nonya Food”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

We ordered a few dishes including the otah, kueh pie tee and kangkong, and all were delicious. Do try the kueh pie tee which can be ordered outside the shop, but there is a queue for it and if you come at the wrong time, it may be sold out. The eatery was crowded when we went and do not expect first-class service and pristine plates/cutlery as it's a local eatery.

“A major disappointment”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

This restaurant had rave reviews in our guidebook, and seems to be relying on that legacy. It had queues out the door everytime we went past it (on the weekend). When we did go it was a huge disappointment. The starter was good, but the main course of duck was a bowl of bones. The staff seemed unhappy and disinterested.

“Have they become too successful, for the customer's good ?”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

We were in the Jonker Street area and wanted Peranakan food for dinner, and so Nancy's came to mind. We were there about 8.30 pm and they were still serving. Nancy, who was sitting at a counter near the kitchen, was too busy counting money to pay much heed to us other than to tell us to go upstairs.
Her staff took our order, served it and left us alone. When we wanted to order more rice and drinks, I had to go to the stairs at the back and shout down to the staff at the ground floor, who shouted back curtly that the kitchen was closed.
The food is ok, but definitely not the best in Melaka. As a customer, I felt that they were mainly interested in making a profit and not in the customer's dining experience. We visited Amy's Heritage Cuisine on the same trip and had a far better experience - in value, the quality of the food and in the service, as well.

“family trip”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

I went to Nancy kitchen after reading good review of it, But I was disappointed. I went there on 14 Oct 2013 for lunch, the food was cold when it was served, The steam lady fingers was ok but the chilli sauce that come with it was so so. I have tasted better one at Little Nonya nd Banonya Restaurant. The pongteh chicken was good but it was cold.
The food is value for money for the portion. Other Nonya restaurant in the same area offer better tasty nonya dishes. The fish maw soup was disappointing, the soup is cold, the fish ball tasted more like the factory made than the ones that are cooked from fresh one.
