The fort is located in the far south of Goa, so if you are travelling from the usual tourist haunts like Colva or beyond, you can take the Colva road and then a diversion via Fatrade to the ferry to cross the Sal river. After that, take the road thats closer to the sea and after about 15km you will reach the fort. Googlemaps gives decent directions. There is a ruined entrance and a few buildings left, but nothing that looks like the usual forts you may see elsewhere. There are some outer walls and bastions remaining, and you may see an old cannon too. The church in the compound is in good shape (its relatively newer) and they were renovating it when we visited. It is VERY HOT when you walk around the grounds, and the expanse is huge, so take plenty of water, a hat and sunglasses. Try and visit in the early morning or evening. You can walk down to the rocky beach via a path from one of the outer walls.
