I feel completely scammed after staying here. The quality of the huts was terrible for the price. They don't provide bed sheets and the mattress cover was torn so that the foam was sticking out. They also don't do any cleaning while you are staying there and my shower didn't work meaning I had to resort to a bucket of cool water. You could find a MUCH nicer place for the same price at another hotel. They even charge extra for the toilet paper!

The staff simply do not care about you.
We had a hard time finding a place to stay ahead of time. We managed to find a contact number for this place and got hold of the owner. We arranged a price and were told someone would come meet us.

We arrived by taxi and someone came to meet us. We thought that was a good sign. When we got to the huts, they showed us one for 700Rs, but said we could take the one beside the water for 1000Rs. We decided to go for the one next to the water, since this was the end of our India trip. It looked fine - I mean, it's a beach hut. It is in a nice quiet area on the beach and you can hear the waves crashing! We asked for mosquito netting, since there wasn't any and the whole top of the front of our hut is open. They said they would bring it no problem. We went for a swim and a walk and came back a few hours later. Still no netting, so we asked again. We were told it was coming. We waited another 1.5 hours and still no netting - the staff was just standing around talking. We asked again. Again, told to wait, while they continued to stand around. Finally, we decided that we would go look elsewhere. As soon as we got up to go tell the owner this, our net was there in 10 minutes.

We left for dinner and came back later on - 8pm construction was still going on. I understand they need to build the huts as it is the start of the season so that's ok. 10:30pm rolls around and they are STILL doing construction. And we aren't just talking a little hammer. It is a full LOUD electric saw. 10:30 at night! My boyfriend finally went outside and told them to stop since we were going to bed. Their response was "but we have to get the huts built". I'm sorry, but you are running a hotel! You can't be running electric tools that late at night.
The dogs at this place are also crazy loud and will start howling every few hours. I love dogs, but this was a little much when you are trying to sleep. Found a cockroach in our bathroom in the night too!

The following day we decided to leave since we didn't want to put up with their constant construction and dogs. We went and told the owner, paid for our one night and he couldn't have cared less. Didn't even ask why we were leaving or say bye. We had originally said we would stay 3 nights. Talk about poor customer service. It was like he couldn't have cared less - most places would have at least asked why we were leaving 2 nights early!

Room Tip: Don't stay here

On arrival I discovered I'd actually stayed here 6 years earlier, when Palolem was a much quieter beach. The welcome reception was great, as was discovering that we were at the quiet end of the beach, but close enough to the bright lights to go and and wreak havoc when necessary. Although there was no real restaurant to speak of, David, Reno and the guys do a mean masala omelette, also chai, barbecued stuff and fab cocktails, even making some up especially for us. When a member of our party was too ill to go out for food, they happily took an order and went off to bring her something delicious. I'd recommend nearby Cozy Nook for their house breakfast, Alessandros for juices, Banyan Tree for slow coming but delicious pakoras... mmm
Originally planning to stay just a few nights, we ended up staying at Sai Valentine's for all 14. The room rates were reasonable when compared with others nearby. Sure if on a backpacking trip you can find something cheaper a bit further off beach and in a busier area, but for our needs this was perfect. And of course, everything's negotiable with the right attitude and length of stay.
David, Reno and all the staff were the perfect hosts, Krishna seemed a fair boss too. All very friendly and helpful. Massage available on site too. Rooms were cleaned on request, towels provided, card games taught, etc. The rooms were reasonably sized, although the beds rock solid. I'm sure my back appreciates it. Loved the hammocks. Only downside was the rowdy dogs and birds at night, but thats nature, whatch'ya gonna do?

I'd definitely recommend a stay here, and I plan to go back later this year.

Sai Valentine has got to be the worse place to stay! Once they have taken your money for the room they are extremely unfriendly and they try to screw you for more money. The Owner of the place Krishna has not concept of hospitality despite being in the business for 10 years, he does not give a damn about his customers and is just after your money.
The rooms are a decent size for one person or a couple however they are over priced comparing to the reset of the huts and you are not alone in your room.... cockroaches, rats droppings, frogs and others will be there with you and they made no attempt to spray the rooms out, this was all left to you to do.
Krishna is very unapproachable and unless you are bringing in business for him he will not acknowledge you, will not greet you and it’s very uncomfortable to be there and you are not made to feel at ease at all.
The staff are constantly drunk and can be abusive, they will not help you with anything and the few products that they sell are double of what the rest of the resort is and they tell you that as you are there customer you are getting a good deal although their prices are more then double..
If you want an uncomfortable stay where you are made to fee awkward to come back to your room and to have to deal with rude drunk staff then this is definitely the place to stay in.

We stayed at Sai Valentines in Dec 09, it was the second time we'd stayed here having also stayed in 08 and we had a wonderful time. Krishna the manager is not dishonest as previous reviews suggest, he is very accommodating and very easy to deal with. We negotiated the price per night prior to arriving and organised various trips including an airport transfer and the prices were all very competitive. If you would like to stay somewhere with real character at the quieter end of the beach then I'd highly recommend Sai Valentines. Yes you can pay less to stay elsewhere on the beach but you simply won't get the same atmosphere or service that you get at Sai Valentines. The Rockit restaurant next door is also one of the loveliest bars on the beach and the food is fabulous. I cannot wait to return next year!

I really loved my stay at Palolem Beach at Sai Valentine's. The room was neat and clean and spacious. The hotel was just near the beach and at night the waves came near the balcony....mind blowing. The owner Krishna was really honest and helpful.Overall I really liked the stay at the hotel.

This is a cozy little beach huts cluster on NorthPalolem side. It has 1 room huts, a hammock, 2 chairs in the balcony and a great beach just outside. The staff is efficient and will make all efforts to make ur stay comfortable, as per shack standards. David and Krishna are friendly people. Even with a kid we were made to feel welcome to homely environ. Good place to stay put if u want to enjoy the beach and have fun on it. The Resturant adjoining serves great food and cocktails, we just loved it. The best part of our stay was live western music in the evenings just outside our room!!
