if you could plonk a hotel near a beach, this one is as close as you will get!!with a wonderful pool to dip into on the way back you coudnt ask for more, just come back from here, i have to say we recieved a service second to none, rooms cleaned every day, staff all very polite, and saburute the pool boy couldnt do enough for you, i would go back to this hotel tomorrow!! we know that they arent the same as our hotels but after visiting others this is one of the best ones,if i go back i would not hesitate staying here, the only thing that puts me off is the terrible airport in india and the long flights, otherwise its paradise, and you cant spend your money!!

The hotel itself was in a good location and the rooms were very spacious. We had a great sized verandah but what let it down was:
1. our room did not get cleaned until we complained time and time again through the re (Arron, Thomas Cook was great)
2. The reception staff tried to pull a fast one by asking for 800 rupees per night extra and said we had been placed in the wrong room (we hadn't)
3. There was a four slice toaster at breakfast which took forever while the staff were just stood about doing nothing
4. Members of staff contradicted each other when giving out information, i.e. cleaners finish at 5pm and another said they work 24 hours

We have been to Goa many times and know what to expect, but have never experienced such rude, ignorant staff. It totally spoils the place and many people who had stayed before said the management had changed this year and would not be going back again.

I've been to Goa 4 times and only stayed at this hotel this year because the Mira Hotel was fully booked. Well were do i start!

1) Arrived at midnight and the reception staff didn't seem to know what they were doing, we were finally allocated our rooms which were a little bit shabby and needed a good lick of paint! (some furniture in room was nearly falling to pieces!) but the rooms were spacious with lounge area, bedroom, bathroom and very large balcony. Our friends sons had been given a studio room which you couldn't swing a cat in so we decided to complain the next morning.
2)After complaining about the studio room the hotel were trying to say that me and my friends had both been allocated the wrong rooms and that we should have been given studio rooms and my friends sons had paid for the suite rooms so they would move them but if we wanted to keep our rooms we would have to pay £140 extra per couple to keep our suite rooms! Anyway to cut a long story short we got the rep (Aaron) involved and he was fantastic he sorted everything out and we got to keep the rooms free of charge and the boys were moved to a suite room.
3) The holiday seemed to go okay from then on after sorting the rooms out, but then there was a problem with the cleaning of the rooms! They are supposed to be cleaned every day, clean linen, towels etc. Our room was only cleaned twice in the first week! After the 5th day when we hadn't had the room cleaned for 3 days on the run i had to shout at the housekeeping staff and tell them how disgusted i was. Within minutes there was 6 of them in the room cleaning it and the supervisor was saying that they were short staffed, this wasn't the case as our room was opposite the housekeeping quarters and there was plenty of staff they were all just lazy, but still expecting tips for doing as little as possible!
4)Anyway other than that, the breakfast being poor and cutlery looking like it needed a good clean the holiday was fab.

As i said earlier before i have been to Goa 4 times now and i absolutely love the place but the service in this hotel is very poor and i'm not one to usually complain but i definately would not recommend going to this hotel.
Anyway its not put me off Goa as i've already booked for Jan 2012 but will be staying at the Mira Hotel where the staff are much more friendly and the service is excellent.

1. poor cottages, broken door, no lock on toilet door
2. AC always giving problem, no electrician on call to check at prompt service
3. very poor breakfast menu
4. pathetic karaoke, bollywood nights
5. No discotheque as advertised
6. passage to beach not fully lit in night
7. away from hustle bustle of baga...
8. poorly maintained

Having read some of the, by and large ,unfair reviews of this place my partner and I were, to be honest a little wary of what we were letting ourselves in for!
However on arrival and settling in after a few days, I would summarise the following;
Yes, the interior decor of the villas/rooms could be better
Yes the Indian electrics have seen better days (but all in working order)
The swimmng pool is fine, if a little tired in appearence.
THIS IS INDIA! For the price you are paying and at 2-3 star, this place is ok. Bed sheets and towels were changed every day and I didnt spot an ant or cockroach in 14 days!
The staff can't do enough for you and like all Goans, are all very friendly and ready to help.
As this is one of the few developments that is situated right by the beach, the value for money is very satisfactory. Yes it could do with a large lick of paint and ideally, a serious cosmetic upgrade. But it caters for a specific budget group and for that reason, is a very reasonable booking and includes many desirable features.
Well done Paradise Village!!

My first time in Goa, once we found our feet we thought the location was perfect so you can get to Calangute, Candolim and Baga by foot, bus, tutut or taxi.

Direct access on to the beach but I was disappointed with the complex layout. The blocks of rooms are 4 ground level 4 first floor and the blocks run side by side down with the pool at the end facing the breakfast area on from there is a spa complex bungalows and the direct beach access with gates that close 11pm. This means no rooms have pool veiw which I found a strange set up. Rooms are spacious and clean very basic but have tea making facilities, fridge and tv (with many English Channels) I think all English PH end up in the side rooms which dont seem to be as nice as the other main blocks but were fine. A negative point is the service area where all the cleaners are and I think the laundy is done is bang in the middle of the complex and its not a pretty veiw from JC block we had JC7 overlooking all the staff, rubbish and huge water tanks, but its just a base we had no intention on sitting on the balcony or spending time in the room.

The pool area is nice but very quiet and the hotel didnt have much going on which suited us fine.

Christmas eve they offered free gala meal and made a lot of effort decorating the pool area and had live band on but we only passed didnt stay as the hotel is mostly Indian holidaymakers.

The staff were freindly and by the end of our stay all the staff would greet us by name which was a personal touch. We came in to some amazing towel art - photos to follow.

Safes are available for INR50 per day and locks are provided.
VISA cards are not accepted at the hotel.
Rooms cleaned daily.

It took us a few days to get into the swing of things but have come home loving Goa and wannting to go again, I cant explain why you need to go and find out for yourselves.

Reccomend getting a to Palolem and staying in a shack great way to wind down from bustling Calangute.

This is an ideal place for family, friends who would want to relax, unwind, tour but also enjoy the night life. There are plenty of places one can go down to, like Brittos at Baga, Titos for dancing and all. I would not recommend the food, as it is very expensive, it is much better to eat at the other joints. The highlight of thier fundo swimming place and a private beach from thier resort. So adios and have fun
