“best thali ever!”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

If you want to try a thali in Calangute, then this is definately the place to go. We had the super thali and enjoyed it so much, we went back a couple of days later. Second time we had the regular thali and some delicious samosas. The restaurant is clean, service is fast and staff very friendly. Will definately be going back on our next visit to Goa.

“Decent vegetarian destination, stick to North Indian dishes.”
Reviewed January 31, 2014

There are a select number of strictly vegetarian restaurants and plantain leaf is one of the better options. On the main road to the beach, it's upstairs from other eateries.

The restaurant has nice big tables and it's nice if you snag a table by one of the large windows (be warned no grills). The downside, you might end up smelling the fish from downstairs or nearby!

The have a wide range of choices, the service is good and the food well some of it's nice the others decent. Our miss was the south indian dosai - granted I live in Bangalore that's a Dosai haven but somehow did not quite have the right taste with a sambhar that was not quite there. Their Kaju masala was quite flavorful (though as you can expect since it's made with cashewnuts, quite rich on the calorie count). Their sandwich (for my son) was also done well. As an aside, we did not really find good south indian food anywhere in Calangute.

One of the better options for vegetarian food in Calangute, certainly worth trying.

“Great veg restaurant”
Reviewed January 18, 2014

I really wanted to try a veg restaurant while I was in goa. My husband is a big meat eater so was not so keen but this place was great, the food was fab the choice amazing and the price very cheep. My husband loved it. We were not sure what to have and they helped us through our choices. We were stuffed by the time we left and a meal for two with nan bread was £6.

“Good simple breakfast”
Reviewed January 14, 2014 via mobile

Had a simple breakfast of cheese and ham on toast and a cheese sandwich - I never thought I'd say this but sometimes a simple meal is what you need
