Checked out 15 hotels in person along Calangute-Baga road and this one was the best value for money. Room was big with two king size beds as family room. A/C and fan kept room cool on lovely hot days and room had large balcony over looking pool. The pool was a hit with the Kids who loved being in it all the time. The staff are pleasant and friendly. The rooms could do with a little freshen up but for £5 pppn Inc tax it is good value for money and would return here.
nice, clean, big rooms, big bathroom, with AC thank god ! ventilator and everything you need to put down the temperature with 20C. a small swimming pool, a restaurant as well, but we never tried it. don't count on the room service though, they serve till late, but it's not worthy, just go down the street or at the beach, way better and more romantic. staff was very friendly and at our service 24/7. will go there again
We booked this hotel not knowing it was so terrible. When we arrived in this hotel, we really wanted to go back home! The rooms looked old, smelly and filty. The matras had stains on it and the sheets were also covered with stains. The bathroom was filled with flies and it wasn't properly cleaned, just very dirty. The staff however was very very friendly and helpful like everybody in GOA. The pool and outside area looked oke and cozy though, But unfortunately we didn't even stay in this hotel for 1 night. We immediately booked another hotel nearby (Lambana Resort, a thousand times BETTER!)
We stayed for a week to attend our Goddaughter's Christening and asked our friends in Goa to book us some accommodation as they are local.
We loved this place because it is central and in the village with a great little shop by the gate
so i could buy cool water every morning on our way out.in the evening we have dinner at the BBQ restaurant on the street and pay aprox £5.00 for 2 of us with wine and no upset tummies all week !
The staff were all from Nepal and Darjeeling and so kind and helpful and we had a fresh ommellette every morning for breakfast.
our room was comfortable and clean with a fridge and great balcony.
every morning i would sit on the balcony and read and listen and watch the locals getting up and starting their day- with the man next door lighting his fire to heat water.
every evening we would come back and have a peaceful swim before getting ready for a 5 minute stroll out for dinner.
the look of the building is rustic but to our taste as we don't like fancy big Hotels.
i have booked again for Jan 2010 and so looking forward to it.
This year i am taking my prescription for glasses as there is a very good optician in Calangute .the hairdressers are really good and you can have your hair done and beauty treatment for about £10.00 total !
The people are so friendly and helpful you never feel alone and certainly never struggle for a taxi to go anywhere !
we reccommend a trip to see the spice plantation and swimming in the river with the elephant !
Very nice, small, quite, and friendly hotel. And our room was extremely nice.
The bathroom was rather antique, but hey, for the price it was no misery.
Downsides:
The nearby beach is crowded, especially with young men who takes photos of women in bikinis. So for going to the beach pay a taxi to take you to one of the other beaches.
The breakfast is very primitive, but served with a big smile, so no worries.
