Its a budget hotel. Nothing luxurious, it's all basic, minimal and simple.
We happened to be staying during the peak period (Xmas eve and Xmas day) so the price we paid is double of their usual off peak rates.
Bed is ok, no bugs and clean. There's 2 of us sharing a room and they provided: 2 pillows, 2 towels, 2 bars of soap. Nothing more, nothing less. Throughout our 2 nights stay there, no one clean the room. Basically no housekeeping and no phone provided. So if I need to look for my friends staying at the other room, I need to walked over. Which is not an issue as we are on the same floor.
Be prepared to experience power failure at least once a day but it has nothing to do with the hotel I suppose. As when the power goes off, it impacted the entire streets not just the hotel.
Wifi available at the ground floor cafe (which also happens to be the lobby). We spent nice evenings there surfing and drinking cocktails. Nice 70-80s music playing from the bar.

Short walk about 5 mins to the beach with some good restaurants there.

Our room rate doesn't come with breakfast but its not an issue at all. Take a short walk 3 mins to The German Bakery, they serve good yummy breakfast and coffee.

Dear Sir ,

Your review headline states clearly " YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR " This is exactly what we aspire to do . We are a value for money hotel as advertised on several online sites and promoted as "VALUE DEAL" for the exact same reason . Thank you for your business . Much appreciated.

Regards

We spent 14 nights at the hotel and they were great! The location is perfect - in the quieter part of Calangute, so it's quiet at night, but at the same time, it's a 4-minute stroll to the beach as well as to the shops, cafes, restaurants, bus to Panjim, etc. We had a street-facing room, but no problems with noise etc (maybe because we were sleeping with the fan on, so the buzz was there at all times ;)) The neighbourhood is very safe and OK to walk around even in the wee hours ;)
The hotel itself is quirky, but in a very nice way. We loved the decor, balcony, and carved bed! The room was comfortable, as was the bed. No problems with cleanliness (the towels are not snow-white, but nonetheless CLEAN, so don't worry about that ;)), absolutely no bugs or dingy appliances. It was nice to have emergency light in a case of power cut (=every night ;)) The staff was very nice and helpful, always smiling!
The restaurant downstairs is pretty good: the breakfast (one that is included in the room price) is pretty basic (toast, butter, jam, tea/coffee), but we felt it enough for hot days in Goa. We ate dinner there twice and were happy we did - my boyfriend loved the xacuti! The prices are OK for Calangute, I guess - not far from the usual beach shack prices.
In general, we enjoyed the stay a lot and would recommend the hotel to anyone, unless someone expects boutique hotel with spa (and this place is not it :)) A perfect spot for laid-back holiday. Thanks a lot to the hotel staff and hopefully see you again soon!

Room Tip: Street-facing room was OK - not too much noise, since Holiday Street is rather a village-street, not...

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Seagull during our trip last weekend which turned out to be our perfect goan vacation. As a first timer I was quite skeptical if we chose the right hotel. Thanks to the good reviews we were definitely not disappointed. The hotel is located a stone throw away from a more private part of the Calangute beach which is beautiful (the main beach however is overcrowded and unpleasant). We reached 4 hours late at 12 in the midnight because of a delayed flight and we were unsure if we will still have our reserved room. To our delight the hotel was alive and kicking at midnight, almost preparing us for the nightlife experience at Goa. We also got a decent room (as shown in the pictures here). The facilities in the room are neat and sufficient. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is perfectly located to reach any north goan beaches. You find everything (shops, restaurants (all cuisines), beaches, markets, night life, bike rentals, taxi) close to the hotel. The pool area is pretty small but I am guessing it serves the purpose. The restaurant at the hotel serves good food and drinks and also has some kind of entertainment in the night (live bands, music, soccer matches telecasted in big LED screens) . The manager (Alwin) was friendly and was more than ready to help us for any of our basic needs. We got a discount for the cab to the airport based on his recommendation. The staff were friendly as well. Overall we highly recommend this hotel.

Suggestions for improvements: The 24 hour wi-fi connection could be provided (currently, they switch off the wi-fi connectivity at 11PM).

I visited the restaurant in this hotel. The location of the resort is perfect. It is close to restaurants, supermarkets, medical stores and the beach. The food was delicious, the service is good and most importantly is quick! The hotel looks very nice.
