We were looking for a nice beach holiday to unwind from our hectic schedules. My stay at Chalston was a spontaneous decision, I just went through its website and booked it immediately without giving much thought to the amenities or ambience. When we arrived at Chalston we were pleasantly surprised by its ambience and overall look of the hotel it is like a group of homes.
The rooms are ok done, clean and they are quite spacious too. Even a standard room has much to offer in terms of space, some rooms at the ground floor have a little balcony attached to them Also their garden is well maintained and has a variety of flower plants. Another pleasant surprise is their private entrance to the Calagute beach directly from the backyard. Their restaurant is also situated in the same place and you can enjoy a lovely view of the sea while having your food. Complimentary Brackfast is not so good but food also good. The hotel also scores well in terms of hospitality and the staff is very courteous and are forever ready to help you.

Would certainly recommend the hotel to people seeking beach located resort in North goa. Some of the areas of improvement are cleanliness, and services part.
Food was excellent, it was fresh and even available at odd hours.
Though staff was cooperative but hotel facilities neee to be more kids friendly.

This is my 4th visit to Goa I must say was impressed with this hotel/resort overall offering.
Pros :
Right next to the Baga beach. From the beach side I think it should be equidistant from Baga or Calangute beach.
Rooms are large , spacious and airy. We had pool facing room with a partial view to the sea . The best rooms to book are
S29, 30 which are direct sea facing rooms.
Preperty is large with a lot of greenary and a pool which is well kept . So advantage is it appears less crowdy.
Has a restaurent which serves some really good food at reasonable local market rates. Sea View from the restaurent.
Good front office staff and
Cons :
The breakfast they serve can definitely be improved and the Pao is an absolutely No No . The Pao is a put off. May be they should add some more variety to the breakfast and the menu is repeatative and one can get tired from second day onwards.
Room service is slow and people has to be reminded .

Had our School Reunion here on 3rd & 4th Aug 13. The off-season was perfect to stay here. Basic, Old Goan charm. The restaurant staff were good, especially Umesh. And just loved the parking slot reserved for 'my Harley'!!!!!! Wat was great about the location was that we got Pizza and Beer at 3.30am from Calangute, long after the resort restaurant shut!!!! And we still got to enjoy the sound of the SEA at Chalston!!!

Room Tip: The Rooms get a bit damp during the Monsoons!!!!

Pros - 1. Located bang on the beach and only 5 mins from the Calangute main market yet does not have too much of crowd. 2. Restaurant on an elevation facing the sea with good ambience and with economical and variety of dishes 3. Budget friendly hotel with swimming pool/library and good travellers. 4. Polite and courteous staff/owner. 5. Balcony in most of the rooms.

Cons - 1. Average rooms with practically no modern amenities (though have ok fridge/AC). Decent pool facing/sea facing rooms.

Overall a great choice considering the location/price. I've been visiting this property since 2006 and have stayed a numer of times. Very happy customer.

Room Tip: Prefer the pool facing large ac rooms/sea facing deluxe rooms in the main building. If you are lucky you may get a partial sea facing room at the price of a large ac room. Book well in advance as they are generally always full. They have a lot of crowd that comes from overseas.
