“A memorable stay at 10 Calangute”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

We visited Goa in early March along with our kids and parents and stayed at 10 Calangute for 5 nights. The hotel management had provided us adjacent rooms (Colva & Majorda) as per our request. The overall experience was extremely good and we felt very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel also gives good value for money without compromising with the quality of service.

The young hotel staff were extremely cordial and understanding (our 02 boys aged 3 and 5 bent on bringing the house down) without being invasive. My elderly parents were also very happy and comfortable there. The hotel menu, though limited, is quite delectable and the kitchen and restaurant are hygienic an healthy. The rooms are quite spacious and the overall cleanliness in the hotel is extremely good.

The best way to explore the area is by hiring an Activa (which can be arranged by the hotel as well and costs Rs. 250/- per day and petrol extra). The hotel has a nice collection of DVDs (Hindi as well as English) and a mini-library for those who want to spend time indoors.

Due to an electricity problem in the area, the ACs were tripping frequently, however, it must be said that the staff were prompt in attending the problem (even in late hours) including personal attention by the manager Mr. Subhanker. The facilities can be further improved by having a small gymnasium and DTH television service in place of the present cable TV.

Though the hotel has fixed pick-up and drop down services for the airport, they were gracious to accommodate our request for arranging the same at a slightly different time. We also felt touched when Mr Subhankar gave us a call personally on the day of our departure to thank us for our stay and wishing us all the best for our journey. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Goa and would like to return there again sometime....

We were two couples and had stayed there for 3 nights in the Candolim & Anjuna rooms. From outside it looked like a very ordinary hotel but the rooms are spacious and extremely well maintained with plasma TVs, DVD players, spacious bathrooms with shower cubicle and bath tubs.

However, the beds are little uncomfortable coz of hard mattresses. No views whatsoever from the rooms, and the property being in the center of all the hustle and bustle is at times very noisy. The pool is quite small, but we had great fun there. Lobby is nice.

The breakfast buffet was average in both choice and quality. We had ordered for chicken pizza for evening snacks, and it was not at all good. We could not even finish that.

Airport transfers are complimentary but not flexible as they have one-time fixed pick-up and drop service. We had to hire an outside taxi to reach hotel from Goa airport by paying Rs.1100 from our pocket. Somehow, airport drop was then provided to us complimentary.

The staff is nice and cordial, and the hotel manager Shubhankar and Victory very attentive.

I would recommend this hotel for those who are interested primarily in relaxing on the beach/sightseeing whole day and coming back to a nice & beautiful room at the end of the day.

Room Tip: The hotel rooms are not similar in layout so check out the rooms and choose before checking in (if p...

Dear Guest,

First of all, we would like to thank you for staying with us and giving us an opportunity to
serve you, and subsequently posting a nice review for our hotel and liking our services.

Our beds are designed and made keeping the guests requirements and expectations in general. We use the high quality spring mattress with extra foam cover to make it softer. However we have noted down your detailing and shall be trying our best to make the beds more comfortable.

Regarding the food, we have noted down your concern and shall work on every aspect to improve the same.

We have complimentary airport transfers but scheduled at a particular time and we communicate the same to all our guests at the time of booking. But whenever there’s no
pick up & drop off on scheduled timings, and have we any special request of guests for transfers according to their flight timings, we have always catered to that. In your instance, when your flight landed at Goa Airport, our cab was in transit with a scheduled transfer, that’s why we couldn’t provide you with the pickup. However, at the time of your departure, we have extended the complimentary drop off at an evening hour, by doing a second trip to the airport.

You have reviewed our hotel in an appropriate forum and we have noted down your suggestions / detailing as well, which gives us scope to improve ourselves even more, to serve you better in near future.

It will be our immense pleasure to be your host again and again in near future and we surely look forward to serve you even better.

Thanking You,

Subhankar Majumdar

My Wife and I visited this place last year in March on our honeymoon. I have been wanting to write a review for a long time now, but couldn't. Nevertheless, I believe a good experience is forever cherished so this review may not be outdated afterall.

10 Calangute Boutique Hotel is an excellent choice for couples who are on their honeymoon or just looking for a getaway. We chose this hotel based on reviews on Trip advisor, (although I booked it directly with the hotel, a practice that bodes well if you want to keep things under ur control). The reviews exceeded our experience, overall and I'm willing to recommend it to anybody.

We stayed at the terrace suite - which was really amazing. The room was spacious and clean. The Terrace is very private and couples looking to cuddle up, watching the sunset won't be disappointed ;) We had a small issue with the Jacuzzi, but the hotel staff were quick to attend to it even though it was at night. Same with the Terrace door - very quick to fix it.

Hiring a bike (especially Activa - to lock ur stuff under the seat when u go out) is a good idea. However do a test ride to see if the bike is old or new. You can check out the nearby beaches and hang around even at midnight - the surrounding place is pretty safe. There are enough shops, restaurants, and bars nearby too.

The food at the hotel is good. Breakfast is pretty decent - and they serve ur needs personally eventhough its a buffet. We chose to have most of our lunches and dinners outside, as we wanted to taste different cuisines. Amenities in the hotel are nothing much to boast of - swimming pool is more like a large swimming tub, and the foosball table had no ball! :D We didnt mind it one bit however, as we wanted to explore goa outside the hotel.

The staff is friendly, sometimes they seem aloof, especially the manager - Subhanker. Honestly no complaints from him or his staff, but I personally felt that he could cheer up a bit :D :P

We would definitely go back to this place if only we didnt have the inclination to check out other locations and hotels in Goa.

Room Tip: If you can afford it - Terrace Suite. If you can't - Even then Terrace Suite..:) Its an awesome...

This is a botique hotel loacted in the midway of Candolim and Calangute.Hotel staff was execllent and the ease with which Mr. Santosh helped us arranging the activa and the car next day was exceptional, and he was also very good in telling us the directions.
Healthy and delicious breakfast was available with good variety.
Complimentry wifi and DVDs was something I liked very much.
If you are ready to drive for 5-7 mins to reach the beach, this is a very good option.

Room Tip: Book a room with terrace

We stayed at 10 Calangute for 29 nights in Jan/Feb 2013. The hotel had not been our first choice as we had been let down by another hotel just 3 weeks before we were due to arrive. However it was the best 'let down' ever. We cannot fault this hotel! We are a well travelled, retired couple and prefer to go to different places, but this is one place we will definitely return to. Mainly because of the way the management and staff have looked after us. The rooms are large and well furnished. The bathrooms are fabulous, huge shower and proper bath. This was great for washing our clothes, as we were there for a few weeks. I would recommend the room called 'Colva' as it was huge and at the rear of the hotel, so very quiet. For the last couple of days the manager, Shubhanker upgraded us to a terrace room (I think for a treat as we had been long staying guests!) This room was called 'Baga', again a lovely room with sliding doors onto a large terrace with a table and chairs plus sunloungers. The pool, although quite small, was refreshing to cool off and we had it mostly to ourselves. Breakfasts were good, cereals, (wonderful porridge!) eggs, bacon and sausage to order, alternatively there was a buffet with both Indian and Western choices. A big big thank you to Shubhankar, Victory and all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable.

Room Tip: Colva Room, very large and quiet.

I had went for honeymoon at 10 Calangute from 4th Feb till 8th Feb. Location is awesome. Just very easily accessible to calangute, baga and even Panjim. All the beaches are within 2 kms of proximity or 5-7 minutes ride on your Activa. Hotel staff very helpful. Candle Light Dinner at Poolside was the best I could have.

Easy Check Inn and welcome Drink. I had booked room Vagator Superior Room with Terrace. The rooms are quite bigger and Terrace as awesome as ever. Healthy, continental and Indian Breakfast available with good variety.

Vehicles easily available. The other best thing is Manager Shubhankar. You really rock buddy. All the arrangements of Room and Floral Decoration everything was Awesome.

Not many options for Veg Menu for Dinner and Lunch. but there are many options just outside the hotel available.

Finally a perfect Resort for Honeymoon and Couples and a good property within budget. Really really loved this place. Amazing Stay. 10 Calangute you made it the best honeymoon for me.
