This was my first stay at at Taj Hotel in India. We spent a couple of days at the luxury suite. The hotel and setting are absolutely beautiful, very elegant and yet comfortable. The gardens are nicely groomed. The suite is tastefully decorated and VERY comfortable. We had a basket of fresh fruit brought in our room on each day as well as some chocolates. The amenities are what you would expect at a five star hotel. The bathroom was great and my little kids enjoyed the bathtub (jacuzzi). The staff were very attentive, nice, and professional. You truly feel special the way they greet you and offer help. In fact, my mom had an acute medical episode during the night and housekeeping was very responsive as to send someone to pick up the necessary medicine from a pharmacy 40 minutes away. I was informed of where people were a few times and was not charged for their trip. My children loved the children's club (Tex). The swimming pool was very nice and the walk at the beach not bad - you have to cross the golf course. Because of my picky eaters we only tried the Italian restaurant. The food was excellent. I only have good things to say about this hotel. The downside, it is more expensive than other hotels, but in this case, be assured that you will get what you pay for. I would be back in a heart beat.

Room Tip: The luxury suite with sea view is really nice.

June 2011 : I was here for friend's wedding.

The property is spread over acres of Land. The rooms are scattered all over the resort; mainly cottage accommodations. However, the Golf Carts pick you and drop you from any part of the Hotel to the other and the entire system is really well co-ordinated and efficient.

Amazing pool. You would love to grab a drink from the Bar beside it and sit on the sun beds and enjoy the breeze and the sun beside the pool. However, no sunk in pool bar.

The rooms are big and spacious. The first floor rooms come with a balcony overlooking the sea and the greens. You will love the breeze over a cup of coffee in the morning on the balcony facing the sea.

We ordered for breakfast in our room and it was delicious.

I visited in the month of June, it was an off season time due to the monsoons. The beach was closed but looked inviting. However, since the resort is located in South Goa, there is nothing much to do around the property. So, if you are looking for some loner time on the pristine beach, this is the kind of place you would love to be in away from the Buzz.

Room Tip: If you have money to shed, definitely go in for Pool Villas.

The Taj Exotica is a wonderful destination in Goa. The grounds are well-kept, rooms are relatively quiet, service is outstanding and the beach is one of the nicest anywhere, with very soft sand and no rocks. There are plenty of activities for kids -- swimming, bike riding, pizza making, crafts, games.

The breakfasts are amazing! The buffet includes a wide variety of Indian and international dishes, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The chefs can make dosas, uttapams, omelettes, waffles, pancakes, etc. to order.

I particularly recommend the Goan restaurant (Alegria) for lunch or dinner. An outdoor dinner buffet on Friday night was the highlight of our stay. The various seafood dishes were incredibly delicious. We were entertained by folk musicians and dancers, and the evening included a cooking demonstration by Chef Urbano de Rego, who should probably be classified a national treasure. He's been working for Taj Hotels for over 40 years. Go try his cooking before he retires!

The one negative -- and this is true of so many hotels -- is that the beds are too stiff. Some people like hard beds; if you are one of them, you'll like these. I, on the other hand, sleep better on memory foam.

Service was top-notch, which is what I have come to expect from Taj resorts. All in all, our stay at the Taj Exotica was a great holiday.

Stayed at the Taj for two weeks thought the hotel wa amazing fantastic location, reception is stunning. The villa was nice but could do with a make over especially the bathroom.breakfast wa excellent plenty of choice, bar and restaraunts very expensive compared to the shacks ! Although the Italian was excellent food. The pool looks nice but again needs a make over tiles very old and worn and you catch your feet in places especially the children's pool. There are free bikes Archey golf tennis , table tennis.

Just returned after a week here. Nothing short of a fantastic experience. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Location is fantastic. Staff were outstanding in every respect. Always smiling and will greet you at all times. I have read comments about expensive. Not quite true. It is no more expensive than a good hotel in Europe in terms of room and restaurant prices. rooms were spacious and well appointed. Food and drink and service was truly superb. You could not fault this hotel if someone put a gun to your head!
Yes unfortunately, the Russians have invaded Goa but thank god that there are only a few of them in the Taj! The word impossible does not exist in the mind of any hotel staff! All staff were superb but to name some with whom we interacted everyday. Ganesh, Kensing Jena and Gerry in the Pool area. Narayan das , Niharika and sonali in the restaurants. Mayson in the Lobster shack. Vellington and Sandrey in the main bar. This is just to name a few. If you go here, I can almost certainly guarantee you a vacation of a life time; something truly fantastic and a holiday that you will NEVER forget! We never left the hotel as food and service was fantastic. Why go to shacks to save a few pennies when you can get the best at Taj Exotica? Go there, spend the money and pamper yourself. Went out for walks in the night but never got attacked by dogs; in fact they were friendly. The spread at breakfast was phenomenal. No other hotel in the world can probably beat that! Cant wait to go back as we have some special memories on our very special trip. Well done Taj Exotica Management and Staff!
