Visited cavatina restaurant a week back along with my family and kids. Right from the moment we entered the restaurant you were made to feel at home . The restaurant is very cosy and comfortable and is owned by a couple Avinash and tiz who used to be part of the Oberoi group of hotels . Perfection in want they believe and deliver is actually seen in everything they do.
We opted to go for Goan tapas menu which was Small portion of Goan inspired food in different style from around the globe. The smoked mackerel which came on bed of hay was absolutely stunning. The croquettes of semolina was another dish that really stood out and was most unexpected.
Everything they did showed love and passion even the breads were made inhouse with local toddy and served with a tomato olive salsa and some crumbled feta on the side was stunning. Chef Avinash came to our table to explain every course and was such a delight to have him explain every dish to us . We had some fantastic discussion on food and drinks as the evening passed. To an extend When I had asked him about the local Portuguese bakery which are very famous in Goa and keep their recipe well guarded he drove me to a old bakery close to his restaurant to show me around which was very kind of him . Not to mention tiz who was equally gracious and ensuring that every guest was comfortable in the restaurant
Like to end by saying that if Michelin star rating was in India cavatina would be the first restaurant to get it in Goa.
