a great place to watch the sun go down with a cocktail at one of the beach huts. Food is good too and readily available at most of the huts.
There are life guards on the beach (reassuring) and the sea is lovely and warm.
If you want to take a break from the beach walk up to the main street where there are lots of lovely restaurants to chose from. If you love Goan/India food there is plenty on offer (well recommended) and even chinese or english if you prefer. We stayed in an apartment which gave us so much flexibility we would not consider a hotel.

I stayed at lemon tree in candolim and spent a lot of time at the candolim beach. For one thing this is a very clean beach. It is well maintained with a lot of shacks also available.

All of these shacks have good food and plenty of beds available (on beach chairs). One must ask for bed rates beforehand because usually they come for free if you eat at these shacks. Some places do not give these beds for free and charge around 100 rs per bed per day.

There is nice water sports available.. including parasailing and water scooters. Water scooters are charged around 500to rs for two people (its cheaper in calangute) for one five minute ride.

The waves were nice and high and the water is much cleaner than calangute.

The lane of beer cafe's and the gusting road with all good restaurant towards Candolim Beach has loads to offer to excite your stay in Goa.
The Candolim beach is much better organized than calangute and has all the adventure sports to offer. The crowd here is better and less crowded than the other beaches.

The best part of the beach is that the road leading to the beach is a very clean road and you don't have to extend down till Vagator beach to enjoy your beach visit.

Yes you will still see loads of homies, but hey! don't bother, they are still less in number and you will enjoy better.

The food quality of shacks on the beach is okay and you can still try out the restaurants on the road.

if you want a rammed package holiday beach with tons of resort traffic book here . otherwise it was like a nasty beach you see on tv with row after row of sunbeds and everyone crammed in on top of each other , union jacks flying in the air - priceless ! full of people from home , food was egg n chips and burgers everywhere . within a couple of hours of arriving id made my mind up i was off ! it was all so classless and cheap . compared to south or north [past baga] goa it wasnt anything like the goa elsewhere . i mean if you really want a nice beach try agonda , cola or palolem in the south , or ashvem , morjim in the north . if you want fun try arambol , or party in anjuna . however if you want to just be with the folks from home with all the things you like doing and eating at home then just log onto tcook thomson and grab yourself a package holiday to candolim lol . and it was older too , long term retirees on their fav bed every single day in their fav shack for the last 15 consecutive years and dont go anywhere else . nah wasnt the one for me but lots of others love it for that package holiday vibe ;-)

We spent two days in Candolim beach. The beach was slightly crowded but we wanted that way. The sea was lovely and warm and the shacks nearby was very nice.
Only one problem was that there is no toilet facility nearby unless you go to one of those shacks and buy food or drinks.
