“A lovely experience and a great house”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

We were planning to visit Goa during the long weekend on Independence day and were definitely sure that we didn't want to stay at any of the large chain hotels. We were sure they would be full of noisy families with children who wouldn't know how to respect other people's space. We landed upon Capella by chance and were so happy that we decided to stay here
Jamshed and Ayesha's house is an absolute delight and they make sure that you treat the house as your own. We stayed at the Cottage outside the main house while some friends stayed in the 1st Floor room. Both the rooms were great and quirky. As a result, we spent a lot of our time in the house itself. The pool is also a great place to lounge around.
We were spoilt every morning with the most delicious breakfast and home cooked bread. Although we did not try the lunch and dinner, we are sure that it would have been just as great and full of local flavors.
Jamshed also made sure that we were aware of all bike rental and car rental numbers and even offered to negotiate for us. He also recommended some nice restaurants for dinner everyday. The other great thing about the house was that it never gets locked, so you can come in and leave anytime you want. Jamshed's two dogs look really big, but are the most docile creatures you will ever meet. If you are not comfortable around dogs, they will be separated in a different area.
Now that we have discovered Capella, i don't think I am going to like the impersonal rooms and service provided by the large chain hotels. We are definitely coming back here

Capella...is different....in a beautiful sort of way. This house and the love with which it has been made makes the visitors feel special and it is this sense that stays with you even after you have left the place and gone home. My husband and I had a lovely and peaceful time. We wanted to see Goa during the monsoon and couldn't have asked for a better place. The room where we stayed, the first floor room, was gorgeous and had a perfect view. we loved the home cooked meals and the care and service provided by the staff. Jamsheed was a good host (Ayesha was not there during our stay) in that not only did he ensure that you were comfortable in their house but also made you feel at home by asking you to treat the place as your own.

we spent quite a bit of time at Capella itself, and those were the best days of our trip.
I would also like to add that if you are the kind of person who likes to have different and unique experiences when on a vacation then Capella will be right for you. It is best for those who love nature and can appreciate the beauty of their surroundings.

Will definitely go back to this place

We stayed four nights in the guesthouse and everything was perfect.
All the staff is very helpful and friendly.
Jammy and Ayesha speaks a perfect english (that's not very common in India) and make you feel very welcomed in their beautiful house.

The room (Heliconia) was perfy confortable, with a amazing bathroom.
The honesty bar is a very nice idea (the prices are very cheap, they don't make profit out of the bar) and the pool is clean and large enough to swim a little.
The food served is simple, but very tasty.

The price is a little high for India, but it's a guesthouse, not a hotel. You have the privacy you want and you live in a very quiet atmosphere.

My husband and I and the most lovely stay here on our honeymoon. Everyone was so accommodating, the staff were charming, and their food was incredible!! The only thing wrong was that our stay was too short!!! If we are ever back in Goa - we'll be back!

Ayesha and Jamshed, share their beautiful house, their wonderful food and the blue swimming pool overlooking a vast open landscape. Set on a hill, the home stay has a bird's eye view of the open land all around, and the quietness of the night is only broken by the chirping of the birds in the morning. Made with great taste and love, with little details cared for and a cook who asks for what you would like to eat, is standard fare there. One can use the place, sit on the terrace, read a book from the library, or listen to nice Jazz. It is a home away from home. Nothing else can be asked for. To know more… just write to Ayesha, and if you are lucky to get a room, then dont think twice - just find out for yourself!!!

Room Tip: All are great! However the top one overlooking the pool has to be the best.

We were a bunch of girls on a 3 day/ 2 nights bachelorette trip and Capella is just what we needed. Its nicely tucked away in the woods, yet connected with all the fancy restaurants and bars one would like for the evenings.
The entire property is beautifully maintained and offers everything from flora, fauna and house pets for the nature lovers to an inviting swimming pool and a bar for the holiday makers. Very tastefully done; has a huge variety of indoor games, an enormous collection of books and lovely jazz music playing in the background to make you not want to step outside at all!
The service and hospitality and fantastic. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: All the three cottages have nice and clean toilets with good showers. The cottage on first floor has...

I chose to stay here for 3 nights recently for my birthday and it turned out to be a good choice. I travelled with my partner and my daughter and her boyfriend. We had the cottage and the first floor bedroom, both of which are large and beautifully decorated but my favourite was the first floor room because of the wonderful views. Capella is the type of property which I love; it has charm and character and is situated in a lovely, quiet location but is also close to good beaches, restaurants and bars. We hired a car and driver for the duration of our stay to make the most of what is on offer in the area.

It felt like being in a private villa with the benefit of lovely, smiling staff who were attentive without being intrusive. We ordered lunch on the day of our arrival and were served authentic, tasty, home-cooked Indian food. Ayesha was very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. I would definitely return here and have also recommended it to my friends.

Room Tip: Take the first floor room for the views
