Can only endorse all other comments. Giles and his team give the Taj and Oberoi a run for their money in terms of welcome, standards of service and attention to detail. From arrival you're made to feel at home- staff are completely unobtrusive but super friendly and always to hand when required. The visits from Suhas, Savio and Giles to in the morning and evening with helpful suggestions for trips etc were really welcome and always on point. The food is to DIE (and diet after!) for- we found it hard to make ourselves go out at all in the evening having discovered, inter alia, the chef's camembert souffle speciality, red onion mash amidst a huge selection of delicious dishes. We always found space to lounge around the pool- sun or shade to choice, and the other options of beaches etc to visit meant that on the few days we stayed "home" we had this totally to ourselves- bar the occasional appearance of one of the team with a sample of chef's new creation- (PS rum and ginger sorbet- delicious!) We had always had a preference for South Goa's quieter beaches, but found we really liked being North ensconced in the village of Nerul- it felt that the local life went on around us, and you wouldn't know that the tourist strips of Candolim etc were 15 minutes away. Also there's a great "jogging track" through the village/paddy fields and along the beach, only needing to slow down for the odd dog and cow close encounter (they seemed a little keen to come along!) ....so you don't need to be totally lazy though of course after a few days it's all too tempting to just relax and enjoy the surroundings. We thought 10 days may be a little long in one location but the driver on hand, and the options of spending days on the beach/crab catching/seeing old Panjim (loved the Fontainhas area and Venite) for some culture "lite" meant that there was plenty to do to provide some variety. Also being able to use La Pousada on the beach resort meant that a beach was only 10 mins away. Can only liken this to having a hotel in your own home, that feels as if it's run by friends- the best of both worlds. We would definitely return, and hope Giles replicates the concept in some other location before long for a new experience! .

Room Tip: If you like outdoor showers then go for Rohini

My wife and I, and our 2 children, stayed at Coco Shambhala over Christmas. I have to say it was probably one of the best holidays I have ever had and it wouldn't be going to far to say that this was down to the amazing overall experience Giles and his team provide. The villas and gardens in which they sit are sublime, the service is warm and friendly but ultra professional behind the scenes, and the guidance and help in bringing to life all the experiences Goa has to offer outside Coco Shambhala mean that you can profit to the full in a completely stress-free way. We genuinely can't wait to go again. Gregory, Jessica, Oliver & Xavier.

We went to Coco Shambhala for the wedding of our son and daughter in law and for a two week family holiday. Everything was absolutely perfect, all the wedding arrangements were brilliant and the whole team worked really hard to make the day wonderful.
We were made so welcome and Giles and the team were very caring, always available if we wanted them, but in no way intrusive, allowing us to have enjoyable family time.
Anything we wanted we just had to ask, trips out, shopping, meals out booked for us and careful, competant drivers to take us out and about.
The whole holiday was a wonderful experience and we all hope it will be possible to return some day.

My daughter and son in law chose Coco Shambala for their Goan wedding and we rented out all four villas for a two-week stay.
I can honestly say that the whole experience will stay with all of us for the rest of our lives and the bar for any future holiday experiences has been set extremely high. My daughter's wedding was so well organised and the evening party (ask Giles for toffee Vodka!!) was awesome.
Giles and the whole team are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. I knew right from our first few steps and warm welcome on our arrival that we were all in for a treat and I was right! The service is superb without being intrusive and the standard of any food prepared for us was very good.
The villas are set in a tropical paradise and all extremely private, we all hope to return some day.

Room Tip: We stayed in Ashvani and this one has the enclosed bathrooms.

As soon as we walked through the gates, we knew we were in for a special treat. The staff made us feel so welcomed and relaxed it was not long before we were in the swing of things. Every wish was taken care of, with fabulous food and enchanting accommodation. The staff are very discret , yet call them on the mobile given to you, they come to attend to whatever need. We had some family come and meet us for lunch one day, and not only were they made very welcome, but could see why we were so keen to stay here. The whole atmosphere is one of tropical paradise and the staff provide the best hospitality we've ever encountered. Thank you for proving such a relaxing atmosphere. Liam Buckley

We arrived to CoCo Shambhala after a very long messy flight. We initially took off from Melbourne arriving in Singapore where we had a 2 hour transit following a flight to Mumbai where we had to take a local airline called Jet Airways to GOA.As per every traveller's nightmare one of our checked in bag's got lost ... Mumbai airport being one of the most chaotic and disorganised I have been in did not help. It took almost 2 hours to get all the so called paper work to be sorted out which in turn resulted in us missing our connecting flight .I shall spare you the details of the story following as it may make this review very long winded and somewhat draggy. So after catching the connecting flight which was 5 hours after the initial flight ...we finally arrived in GOA by when we had been travelling for almost 24 hours. We were exhausted, angry, felt muggy and dirty and literally were hoping that " please god I hope this villa looks exactly like the pictures in the internet " cause I literally could not take another episode after what we went through in Mumbai
As soon as we arrived ....that dreadful feeling quickly disappeared .We were greeted by the team at the entrance of the villa .Although it was late in the night Giles took the time to be there to greet us in person and acknowledged how bad our day had been ....and reassured us that it was going start being a whole lot better which it did.
We stayed here for just over a week and all I have to say is if you're planning to go here think no more , book it ! This is the kind of place you'd visit over and over again (and keep it a secret only to share with close friends )
The Villas are all done up well , maintained daily each one having its own unique style. We stayed in Rohini which was the villa right at the very end tucked away in a corner. Our villa had 2 rooms on the ground floor with the kitchen and living area upstairs. It comes equipped with a Jacuzzi and common swimming pool just adjacent to it.
Both the rooms have outdoor shower's which offers complete privacy. Having showers outdoors under the stars is really an experience not to be missed.
What makes this place even more special is the relationship the staff have with their guest. Giles has mastered the art of hospitality, he makes an effort to come daily to check on his guest , he also treats his staff with the utmost respect which is brings out the best in them as well. The staff are always smiling and are genuinely happy to be there which adds such good ambience to the place.
Suhas prepared custom made meals (breakfast and lunch) at odd times most days(due to us waking up at different times) with no hassle at all .... it was always just a phone call away .The food was wonderful and always served hot (he made sure of it!)
Savio arranged for my mate's bags which was lost to be delivered to us even before we could formally ask him how do we go about getting this sorted .How awesome is that hey ?
Lindsay who took time out from his busy schedule just to package a lamp I bought just to make sure it would survive the journey back home -- which he did an exceptional job at.
Giles who was excellent company, such an easy and down to earth person to get along with , and he never fails to impress with his choices of awesome restaurants and bars which we well and truly enjoyed !!
I would like to say a big thank you to Giles, Savio , Suhas and all the other people at CoCo Shambhala for making our holiday an experience never to forget . We will definitely be coming back here again!

Room Tip: Rohini and Aslesha are the villa's at the back with better view's
