“Far away from beach – trapped in paradise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Unfortunately the biggest disadvantage of the hotel is the location. Far away from any beach or any social life you definitely will need a Taxi or a motor scooter to escape this place. A scooter can be rent but is a bit dangerous to drive in busy Goa so we didn’t take this option as we had seen some minor accidents some days before. The taxi option was more comfortable but also expensive dependent on how often you are going out. …walking is of course possible, then you will find yourself on a plain road made only for vehicles… don’t expect scooters, cars and trucks to care for your safety there.

Coming to the good things of the hotel. You will find a very new and nice building complex decorated with lots of flowers and maintained very well. Eye catcher is of course the wonderful big refreshing pool. It was perfectly clean and during your stay free towels and sun chairs are provided for your convenience. During daytime the hotel seemed quite deserted and was lacking atmosphere. The owner told us that the hotel was fully booked but we never saw more than 2 people around. Staff was friendly and helpful but left the place after 22.00

Our booked standard rooms were quite good and clean with a great looking bathroom. Rooms size was ok, but for us not important as we wanted to see Goa. Beds were excellent and TV and fridge were working without problems. Wifi is for free but not always available in every corner. Unfortunately breakfast is not included in the price but can be ordered at the hotel restaurant located close to the pool. Of course food was more expensive than in the center of Calangute / Candolim but they serve awesome sandwiches and escaping the hotel might be difficult and time consuming (see above)

All in all we had a good time at the Hacienda as we used it mainly just for sleeping but we wouldn’t book again as we felt too much trapped in the middle of nowhere. For people who want to escape busy India it might be exactly for what they are looking for

My sincere thanks to the guest for a very nice review. With regards to the location our readers should know the following. We are a tranquil peaceful Resort surrounded by woods. The nearest beach to us is one of the most beautiful beaches in Goa called Vagator Beach., which is 2.5 km away. Ozran Beach and the famous Greek Restaurant Thalassa is 2 kms away, Anjuna Beach is 3.5 km away, Baga /Calangute Beaches 6 km away.

Though a tranquil resort we are not far from the happening places- The Saturday Night Markets are 2.5 Kms away. The Flea Market 3 Kms away, Water world 2 km away. There are also many eating Houses and Restaurants situated within a radius of 1/2 a km to 2 km away. Plus there are shops and supermarkets very close to us. Panjim the Capital with all its attractions and Casinos are only 20 km away. Toto Lane with all the Discos and Restaurants are only 7 km away.

We are not Plump in the middle of the City. most of our Guests come from over populated City areas and they are looking to have a fantastic time at the Beaches and Pubs, but prefer to come back at night, away from the maddening crowds and have a great sleep in a very safe, clean and tranquil surroundings and the only disturbance they have will be the birds and the...Peacocks.

Thanks again

1. Amazing hospitality by Mr. Thomas. He is the one reason this resort stands out from the others.
2. The rooms are new, well kept and extremely comfortable. Well worth the price.
3. The service is a bit slow in the restaurant; and there is no room service or food at the hotel after 10 p.m.
4. It is located in Vagator and hence away from the noise. Could be perceived as too quiet a locale.

Room Tip: The suites are worth it!

From the moment we arrived at Hacienda I felt like I'd come home to mum and dad's for the weekend; Thomas and his wife were so welcoming. I was hungry after a long journey and she warmed us some delicious home made banana bread to tide us over. It was these little touches that really made the trip for me. I felt incredibly safe, comfortable and at home there in my 3 night stay. I took the cheapest of the rooms which was all I could need (basic but clean and comfortable) but across the group of 6 of us we had rooms ranging from the cheapest to the honeymoon suite and all were satisfied. The pool was peaceful and right next to the restaurant which has good food and great service. Fresh fruit juices in the sunshine were the order of the day. Thomas and his wife were there to wish us good morning, welcome us back after a day at the beach, and wish us well before our nights out. Chatting with them felt like chatting with old friends. The atmosphere of the whole place was relaxed and friendly. I would definitely stay at Hacienda again. Thank you

We of 6 people were working on a project and stayed at this lovely place for over a week, the minute I walked in to this place was the feeling safe, peaceful and most importantly the owner are just like a best uncle and auntie you ever had welcoming you to their place, they are also one of the most honest people I met. The staff were friendly and helpful. We look forward to be back and stay for holiday the next time.

Just left Goa after a few days at Hacienda de Goa in Anjuna. It was a beautiful property, very clean and well maintained. I owe many thanks to the Koruth's for being fantastic hosts, always ready to assist with booking day trips and even negotiating reasonable prices. Excellent service overall. A little walk from either Anjuna or Vagator beach but the plus side to that is you get peace and quiet at night! I highly recommend staying here to anyone who wants a great escape from there hectic city life.

We stayed for one night, in a suite. We liked the room, but figured if we weren't spending much time at the resort, why pay such high price (Rs4870 incl. 15% tax) during low season?

Now, why they are not up to the standard:

1. Restaurant closes at 9:30pm
2. Swimming pool closes at 8pm
3. Wifi can only be accessed near the reception
4. 2% extra charge if we pay by credit card - really unacceptable for a reputable resort - and you should know better than to use the 'it's the bank's charge' excuse, cos everybody knows the bank takes charges from you, and you alone bare those charges, just like any other reputable hotel or resort does!

Yes the owners and staff were friendly and helpful, but they got to be - it's the least they could do, for what we paid!

Our 4th stay here in the 3 years its been open. Lovely clean 4 star+ accomodation
Very good staff and owners.
Only thing I want changed at this hotel is their 2% credit card charge. No hotels or restaurants are doing it in Goa anymore, even small supermarkets for shopping over Rs. 300 charge you nothing . So its something to consider.
Its in a very quiet location in Anjuna so you need transport to move around if you stay here. For us its the peace here that we keep coming back for and thanks to Mr Thomas for keeping that. The best place in North Goa
