We stopped here for one night during a long drive from Florida. This is a fairly new hotel with a very modern feel to the decor (lots of stainless steel, red leather, red and black color schemes) which was fun. Room was nice and clean.
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, but directly off the highway for a quick stop. There is nothing around the hotel at all. To the side is a huge open lot of land that has nothing on it and to the back is a large forest of trees. There is a Bass Pro shop across the street and a race track, both behind a forest of trees. The hotel car park had lots of racing cars as there was apparently a race there on the following day, but still plenty of parking and no noise.
The only place to eat is a Subway that is next to a gas station on the corner. It is situated at the top of a very steep drive that some cars will scrape going up. The street at the bottom is scarred with gouges from people that didn't make it up without scraping. We made it up ok.
The front desk was very pleasant and check in was fast. Our room was next to the elevator on the 4th floor. After noticing the loud vibrating noise in the room I discovered it was the ice machine that was directly behind the wall that the beds were on. It was a loud pulsating hum that was very annoying. Then the air conditioning unit came on. It was very loud, though it did keep the room cool. We asked for a different room due to the noise from the ice machine and were kindly moved to a room on the other side of the hotel. The room was quiet and as nice as the previous room in layout. Then the air conditioning unit came on. Just as loud as the other one, so this is obviously the way they sound in this hotel. I was able to sleep ok, but the noise from the unit kept my wife up most of the night. She also could not sleep due to the bed being too hard.
Breakfast was typical Hampton and everything worked. A lot of times you find machines not working at breakfast, but it all worked here and was good. Pool is small and outside with a few people swimming. We didn't swim so don't know if it was heated.
It was only $114 for the night with tax, so it was cheap enough for a quick stop, but if you want a lot of restaurants and a quiet room you may want to try a different exit.
