I travel through Huntsville about twice a year and always make time to stay at this hotel. It is clean, beautiful, super comfy beds, great pool and restaurants with a wonderful staff and is right next door to the Huntsville Space Museum. Definately worth a stop!!

We stopped here to visit with friends in Madison. Easy to get to...clean room and nicely appointed. We were too early and too late (left before 5 and returned after 10) to try to concierge for dessert, but we did enjoy a nice breakfast there...very filling and well done. Cozy guest rooms...Marriott rocks.

The Marriott Huntsville, 5 Tranquility Base, primarily serves Space Camp, US Space & Rocket Center, NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and Redstone Arsenal. As such, I find myself staying here about once every other year. And it is nice that, while the property hasn't seen much in the way of upgrades or improvements, neither has it been allowed to atrophy. It's a solid, stay-the-course hotel in the mid-range of the Marriott experience - and that's just fine for a quick trip to Huntsville.

Arrival starts with a low-stress ride from the airport in the hotel shuttle. Check-in is easy, the front desk staff friendly and efficient. And your room is exactly what you expect at Marriott - roomy enough, comfortable enough, not too big and not too extravagant, just kind of comfortable and easy to settle into and just right. Super comfortable bed and linens, nice television and IT technology in the room, etc. The only thing that chaffs is the thing that chaffs at ALL Marriott properties - they still STICK YOU for $9.95 for internet service. Almost every other hotel chain in the world, including some of the very most upscale brands, have figured out that wired or wireless internet is just kind of standard infrastructure now - like electricity, hot water, tv, phone. We expect it to be there and we expect NOT to face an extra charge for using it. Alas, Marriott still sticks it to you for this. It's one of the reasons I almost never stay at Marriott. On this particular trip I've been compelled to stay Marriott in both New York and Huntsville, and, yes, the internet charge chaps my derriere.

But the hotel is good, its convenient, it works with the airport and it works with the locations of the customers I'm seeing on this trip - so the stupid IT upcharge is less a hassle than staying downtown at the Embassy Suites, which is frankly a better choice for most other considerations.

We stayed here recently while attending a conference in downtown Huntsville. We were pleased with everything -- comfortable bed, clean room, nice people. We liked that the room had a separate sink area outside the bathroom. We had two meals while we were there, and while they weren't fancy, we enjoyed both. It was also easy to get downtown from here. We would stay here again.

The front desk manager was extremely nice and very helpful. I had an issue before I was scheduled to check in and she promplty assisted me to get it taken care of. My room was really clean. Beds extremely comfortable. Good location and really close to the Bridge St shopping center. Huntsville has some newer hotels in the area, but this Marriot is always my first choice. I visit Huntsville several times a year and we always stay here.

I'm a platinum member with Marriott and travel to AL quite frequently including Huntsville. I stay here most often but I've never been impressed with it. They finally just upgraded to wireless, rooms are small, bathrooms are clean, but nothing impressive or very comfortable. You can ask for a fridge in your room but it won't come standard. The worst is since they are usually booked pretty well, at night the parking lot is completely full and you end up having to walk a decent bit to get into the front door which isn't fun in the winter. The advantage is the outdoor mall with good restaurants are around the corner. You get your points but you aren't missing anything if you stay on university ave at a fairfield or residence inn which are closer to good restaurants and a main location. And their concierge room isn't anything special. Oh, and don't both going to the restaurant attached to the hotel. Food is mediocre, it's dark, and never anyone worth talking to in there unless you are with a group or conference.

The property is pretty well kept, but it is definitely an older hotel. The bathroom is really not good. You have to pay for internet access, even as a Marriott Rewards member. I probably would have been just as comfortable at the Fairfield, and I would have had a fridge in my room for my midnight snack and wine. And, once again, a lot of the TV channels have been discontinued (based on the printed guide in the room), but sports channels still abound. What is it with that? Don't they know women travel for business, too these days??? Do we really need 4 ESPN channels????
