We decided to take a quick weekend trip and take the kids to the Space Museum in Huntsville. We booked this hotel based on reviews from readers and the price was also right! We were not disappointed. The hotel was clean, our room was clean, and the beds were super comfortable. While the room was small and fairly plain, it met our needs - a nice, safe, clean and comfortable room. The indoor pool area is small but our kids loved being able to swim at all in November and the pool and pool area were heated to a nice temperature. There was also a hot tub and a fitness center but we didn't use either of those. It would be a nice feature for adults traveling without children! The hotel also served a continential breakfast which had bagels, toast, french toast, english muffins, pastries, muffins, hot and cold cereals, microwavable biscuits, fruit, yogurt, and waffles that you made fresh yourself. There was also a variety of juice, coffee, milk and teas. We almost went to the IHOP for breakfast which is right around the corner, but decided to eat at the hotel since the buffet was included with our stay but mainly because it was plentiful. The hotel also offered free wireless internet access and we did try this and were very pleased. The hotel is located on a busy street with loads of shopping, restaurants and everything you could imagine. We would definitely recommend this hotels to our friends and would return in the future.

This hotel gets 4.5 out of 5 stars in our opinion...here's the breakdown.

Check in / out: Quick and Painless. They delivered our check out bill to our door.

Room: The room was great. The mattress on the bed was awesome (was that memory foam?) We had an executive king with a king size bed and a sleeper sofa. The only problems we had were our that our mini-fridge wasn't working when we first got there (see below) but that was resolved and my wife found a few hairs on the bed linens for the sleeper sofa. Both were taken care of.

Staff: When we had the problem with the fridge we had one desk clerk who said nothing could be done until the next evening (that's where the hotel lost 1/2 star). Aside from this one person EVERYONE else was great and another desk clerk named LuAnne gave us the best service we've ever had at a hotel. Very friendly and attentive and fixed the fridge problem fast.

Perks: Has a nice (smaller) indoor pool and whirlpool. THE COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST WAS GREAT! French toast, waffles, biscuits, cerial, danishes, coffee, juices...the works!

All kinds of things around it...malls, Target, fast food to sit down food, all within minutes (Target is right behind the hotel).

If we go back to Huntsville, we will definately stay there again.

I was happy to find that the Fairfield Inn demonstrates consistancy over time, and from guest-to-guest. My experience with my stay on Sept 7, 2007 was pleasant.

Staff: Welcoming, cheery, professional. Seemed happy to be there.

Room: Clean.

Breakfast: Clean eating area, cold milk, breakfast sandwiches to heat up, and good coffee.

Price: Can't beat the price for the quality of the property and staff.

I will stay at this hotel when I return to Huntsville.

My wife and I both enjoyed this hotel. It seems very new, and is in a good area of town. Easy to get in and out of. It seems that the area is growing rapidly. Very safe and well lit parking lot. I would recommend going around the corner to Aromas for coffee in the morning. The breakfast wasn't too bad either. After driving around Huntsville, I think this was the best hotel choice! It was only 5 or so minutes from the Botanical Gardens.

I stayed at this Fairfield Inn many nights on a business assignment. I was pleased with the comfortable beds, and the location was great -- within walking distance of a Firehouse Subs and a Super Target (where you can even get sushi) open until 10pm.

The reason I moved to another hotel is mainly that they suddenly raised the rate by $10/night to over $100/night with tax. There are 2 other good motels nearby for much less. Another reason was the slowness of the wireless Internet -- dial-up was a lot faster!

The front desk staff are generally good. A couple of ladies are outstandingly efficient and cheerful, but one clerk never said hello or thank-you. The manager was always very professional in addressing issues quickly and sincerely -- even writing handwritten notes.

The rooms were usually clean. I once had a room with a musty, smelly air conditioner. Unfortunately, the cleaning staff are sullen and unfriendly. One morning before 9 am, there was a sudden and persistent, loud knocking on my door and then a loud, "HOUSEKEEPING!" with a foreign accent. (I mumbled, "Later, please." If they find the door is locked from the inside, they should just wait. Can't they understand some people might be trying to sleep?)

The breakfast is good, with bagels, sweet rolls, hard-boiled eggs, and cranberry, apple, or orange juice. Bananas, apples and choc-chip cookies are often available even in the evening. The cable TV service is adequate but the TVs lack front-panel inputs for games or DVD players. The clock-radios function, but cannot be tuned to the local NPR news station (89.3 MHz). But the most important thing about the rooms are the beds -- VERY comfortable!

Great place to stay. Cannot say enough for the service we received as a group. One thing that I learned in this experience, with a group it is always best to deal directly with the hotel for reservations. The general manager "went the extra mile" to make our stay pleasant. Very comfortable accomodations. I highly recommend!

We dropped our youngest son at Space Camp and stayed at this location for 3 nights (the last 2 in a Cabin at Monte Sano state park). We rarely rate a hotel as excellent, but we just could not find anything bad to say.
Property - clean, safe, close to tons of shopping and restaurants. Only 5-10 minutes from Space Camp.
Staff - Very friendly and helpful
Room - standard small size. VERY clean. everything looked new. A desk and free internet. The water pressure in the shower was very strong with a consistent temp. Sink area was seperate, but small. We asked for free fridge and got one with no problem. The bed and sheets were incredibly comfortable for a hotel in this price range.
Pool - very clean everywhere. Decent size pool for indoor, and warm. Hot tub was nice.
Breakfast - Way better than most. Fruit, brand name cereal, oatmeal, frozen waffles and french toast. Bagels and breads, hard boiled eggs. There were even 2 microwaveable items - like eggs and bacon or sausage on buscuits - very nice.
