“Gem of Bridge Street”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

If you can't find something you really like on Bar Louie's menu, you should probably eat at home. Lunch today was very good, from the pretzels and salmon sliders to simple entrees of a chicken club sandwich and a combo of Mac and cheese and pot stickers. Sides are varied and plentiful. The beer was ice cold and the martinis were wicked. Service was exceptional and the fifth star would have been there if the food wasn't so slow out of the kitchen. It's pricey but, again, your own fridge and kitchen will always be an option. It was a great NFL Sunday afternoon, so we were in no hurry. I didn't see a seat that couldn't see a TV. And we can't wait to return to dig deeper into the menu.

“Decent bar”
Reviewed September 6, 2013 via mobile

The service is ok. They were friendly, but not very attentive. My friends and I were in town on business, and came to Bar Louie 3-4 times because of its location. The food was pretty good. The beer selection looks good, but they were consistently out of some beers.

“Lunch Louie? W/ big bar”
Reviewed August 15, 2013 via mobile

We split a Backyard BBQ Burger at lunchtime on a Thursday. It was very good. Our total bill for this and two soft drinks was $16.93.

Our waitress, Ashley, took very good care of us.

The Huntsville Times' reviewer said maybe they should have named this place "Lunch Louie."

I didn't care much for the music, but it wasn't really loud.

Our server said it is a different place at night. Then it is darker, louder, and crowded.

The shorts-wearing waitresses were friendly and efficient.

I expect the restaurant will be popular enough. It reminded me of a very good airport bar & grill.

However, I doubt that we will come here much, since a large bar is the most prominent design feature, in the center of the dining area. (Nobody was sitting at the bar at lunchtime, although the restaurant was nearly half full.)

Several people were dining at outdoor tables, as it was nice weather today.

“needs work”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

this is a chain, and new to Bridge Street. it's nicely done, and has outside seating. the beer selections are numerous, and several on tap. the menu is more than just pub food, and the wine list is adequate. since it's new, I think they just need some more training and experience. the server was friendly and attentive, but she made a few mistakes in serving us. two of us ordered beer and she brought the correct ones, but gave them to the wrong people. since one was a light colored beer and the other a dark, it wasn't that complicated. I think she just hasn't been trained on how to recognize the difference. it's a bar, so the server should know what a drink should look like. the fish in the fish and chips was very greasy, but had a good taste. more training in service and the kitchen should make this a nice addition to the area.
