“Great special events”
Reviewed March 27, 2013 via mobile

We take our family to all the special events at the Botanical gardens. In the fall the scarecrow trail is great fun for the kids. In December the Christmas lights are a must see for the whole family. On warmer winter days in January and February you can bring your dogs out too. By far the best time is in the spring though. There is color and life bursting everywhere. For children the highlight is the children's garden. They could spend a couple of hours just playing in there. There is a life size board game which is fun for the family. The gardens and walkways are very well thought out, and the variety of different types of gardens is amazing. Watch for the couple times a year where they have free admission and enjoy all the Huntsville Botanical gardens have to offer for free. This is one of the must see places in Huntsville.

“One of Alabama's Finest Attractions”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

The Huntsvile Botanical Garden is growing by leaps and bounds; it is now undergoing an extensive expansion and enhancement to make it, even more so, the state's biggest attraction (e.g, over 110,000 visitors annually). The Galaxy of Lights show each Fall is a draw bringing in visitors from many surrounding states, as well as Alabama itself. You'll want to revisit this garden several times.

“Christmas lights at Huntsville Botanical Gardens”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

We went when the botanical gardens were decorated for Christmas in many lights which depicted various scenes and flowers and nursery rhymes. It was a fun drive and very festive for the holidays.

“A young garden on its way to greatness”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

This is such an excellent spot to go with kids or to enjoy a relaxing afternoon. We were in town for a conference, and I spent two mornings wandering the grounds with my two kids.

For families, they have wagons available to pull the littles, and there are so many water features. Being February and all, they didn't overly appeal, but I'm sure they are awesome in the summer.

The garden looks like it is growing into itself. It also looks like there is more work to be done than there is staff. I considered rating it very good for that reason, but I still think it is an excellent place to visit while in the area.

They have several different gardens to explore and great exhibits and hands-on activities for kids. Highly recommended!
