“Nice, but not "big city" standards”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

It is not very large, but they have really great holiday and special seasonal events that are great for families. The Christmas lights event is fun even in very cold weather.

“Calm relaxing”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

The pumpkins are in place for decorations and the mums growing are spectular! The garden is aglow! Water features so relaxing and serene to hear the bubbling waters. Birds singing in the trees and watching the squirrels play delightful! One must take time to enjoy the beautiful nature that abounds here. Close by SPace and Rocket center too!

“Fabulous Fall Scarecrows and Gardens”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

I toured the botanical garden alone and throughly enjoyed my visit. The grounds are well maintained and there are a wide variety of plants. The garden is divided into many different plant collections. There are display collections and botanical collections. The botanical collections have plants that are suitable to northern Alabama's environment. I visited in October and found many plants still in bloom. The fall scarecrow trail made visiting the garden a lot of fun. The hay bale art displays were also great.

“Seasonal exhibits all year long”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

Our family loves botanical gardens and this one was worth a membership to us. They vary their exhibits during the season and here are some things we consider highlights:
1. Herb garden
2. Vegetable garden
3. Butterfly house (one of the best I've ever been in!)
4. Other local reptiles on display in butterfly house.
5. Children's play area with educational displays and water play areas (a hit with all ages during the hot summer!)
6. Hay rides/fall displays.
7. Christmas light display.
8. Every year they come up with a new theme to change it up. Last year it was tree houses and this year it was art deco butterflies. SO MUCH FUN!
9. During the winter when there is less growing, they allow you to walk your dog there. Check for dates!
Well, that's a few. I could go on and on...visit and see for yourself!
