Had the area pointed out to us at the Alabama Constitution Village, but never went through. The location pointed out on Trip Advisor is wrong and the web site on the page points to a Twickenham church.

This historic district is well preserved and has many interesting houses to view. We did it all from the car. Only complaint is that the map you get from the visitor's center is hard to follow.

My husband ordered a map ahead from the visitor center for a walking tour. We would be only able to do the walking tour when the visitor center was to be closed. We parked our car in a public parking area just off the square and followed the map in the great booklet they sent us. The booklet tells about most of the houses that you will see as you walk around. We walked around for 1 1/2 hours and enjoyed every minute. These houses are amazing and there are so very many of them. The grounds of these homes are an inspiration for my own. You could drive around and see them but you would miss the feeling of really being in the time period that the homes were built.

Take a few moments and drive through this beautiful historic district. The people of Huntsville are to be commended for the efforts they have put into preserving these homes. Only wish we could have seen the interiors of some of them. This was a very pleasant experience with the top down after breakfast.
