Took my wife to Cotton Row for lunch on Thursday, August 11. It was a warm, breezy day and we opted to sit on the porch. The large awnings made for abundant shade and it was a glorious afternoon. I ordered a vodka martini on the rocks and it came back perfection. It' always a test of the bartender for me. A vodka martini is either done right or wrong. This one was done exactly right. We ordered the asparagus soup for appetizer and my wife had the mahi mahi and I had the fish and chips. Her mahi mahi was a bit bland, but it was cooked perfectly and she said it was better than most restaurant mahi mahi. My fish and chips were light, fluffy inside and crispy outside. The fries were done just right. Overall, this is a cut above Huntsville's usual fare. I had wanted to try Cotton Row, but my reaction to the place is that the food was above the usual, but not better than Bonefish Grill. The ambience was perhaps better, and the porch was delightful. Our server was top notch. Very solicitous but not hovering. We'll go back just for lunch on the porch, and perhaps the next entrees we get may raise our rating even higher.
