“Perfect special treat”
Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

Melting Pot is our family choice for special gatherings or celebrations. We really like the new menu options and were lucky to get two fondue pots for the four of us. Gave us a chance to mix and match more choices.

“Interesting experience, but too slow and pricey”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

First it was difficult to find. Down a side alley into a hallway up an elevator etc. Seated quickly and server was nice Between entre and desert it cost around $50 each and when I left I barely knew I had eaten. For the money you dont get much. It took a coupld of hours to dine, items came out slowly and you cook everything youself in a broth. At thie price I would rather be served a big steak by a professional cook.
Everyone liked the dessert but I guess that is no big surprise as who doesnt like things dipped in chocolate. It was one of those experiences that was nice to try once and say you did it but not one I personally care to return too.

“Great New Experience with Mixed Feelings”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

My children were here for Space Camp, so I decided to embark upon a new adventure and try fondue. We opted to sit outside with beautiful atmosphere land a nice breeze. Our waiter was very friendly, accnmmodating, and knowledgeable of menu items. We actually planned to only try the cheese/chocolate fondue, but let our children order the kids steak and we tried theirs and vice versa. I ordered a house salad, which was very tasty, however, it was at least 20-25 minutes before the cheese or my salad arrived. Then the kids got their steak, and it was ok for those that like boiled meat (a bit bland). I wouldn't have paid the adult price for the similar however. The chocolate fondue was the best, offering a variety of dippings. The Passion Punch drink was excellent, and our waiter was good about checking on us occasionally. The , friendliness of staff and a new experience rank high-my kids loved it. However, the way courses are brought out is extremely slow, and we ended up spending two and a half hours for what we thought may take half of that. Maybe more burners and pots for those that choose a speedier meal and dual course consumption would be good to offer those that aren't there on a romantic dinner and have kids that get antsy after that much time. A good first experience though! Whole meal total=$83. A bit pricey to walk away a bit hungry.

“Plan on at least a 2 hour visit.”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

I always enjoy the Melting Pot. Pluses - beautiful and clean restaurant. Service is usually great, a little slow if they are busy. What takes a long time is if you order meat. Because it is cooked in broth, it takes a while. You get 2 or 3 fondue forks and must cook each piece about 5 minutes so you go thru this several times. The pork is fabulous. Chocolate is to die for. A great place for Girls Nite Out or special occasions. Sign up for email specials for your best deals.

“Our favorite place.”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

We usually only go here for someone birthday because of the price, but everyone loves it. The fondue is so much fun and it taste great! Our family each chooses something different so we can all share. Like I said, we have a lot of fun at this place. The one at Bridge Street in Madison has children's menus, which are great! If you do not have kids, this place would be the perfect very romantic date.
