“The Perfect Family Day Trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2012

We drove up from GA for the day. It was a 3 1/2 hour trip but we loved the Space and Rocket Center. It was very interesting. There was one virtual ride and two rides outside. If you like astronauts and space stuff, you will like this. There is also a rock climbing wall. Our kids really liked it and want to go back for a week of camp.

“Visit U.S. Space and Rocket Center Make it a July 4th tradition”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2012

What a wonderful day trip for the family. If you live in the Nashville area or Birmingham area be sure to make this a stop remembering the history of those who walked where few men have.
Space Camp is a wonderful way for young science buffs to learn and carry out missions in the style of good leadership and teamwork.
Last year the center had a wonderful July 4th open house. It was filled with good eats, live music and the kids were able to ride the Space Shot and the G Force Acellerator at not cost per ride.
They also had a wonderful fireworks display on the grounds. Well worth making the trip and if you don't want to drive home the same night, there is a Marriott within a short walk near the center.

“Great Moonbuggy race”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2012

Went to watch the Great Moonbuggy Race. Also walked in museum a bit as well. If you have kids into "building" things, this FREE event is worth going to. About 80 teams, HS and College from all over the world compete in human-powered 2 person bicycle-type vehicles along a simulated "moon surface course. Great family event, usually held in April. http://moonbuggy.msfc.nasa.gov/. Highly recommend it.
