“A nice garder”
Reviewed August 5, 2012 via mobile

This is a nice garden evidently provided by a nice family that loved nature. It was close to our hotel and it was a nice morning walk. No charge. It was not a destination garden for a plant fanatic like myself, but it was a nice respite from the surrounding urban sprawl. My kids loved feeding the fish and turtles. The whismical sculptures were fun too.

“Met Mr. Aldridge at Golden Rule in Hoover and went straight over and joined as a member”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

I have been here several times. They are trying very hard to be a destination. It is free, go enjoy it. Some nice walks. Thank you Mr. Aldridge for your generosity.

“Such a beautiful spot - nestled within the city.”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

I have loved visiting Aldridge Gardens since it opened and it just gets better with every visit. It is a frequent wedding, reception, party venue - but it is also the best spot for a quiet walk, photo shoot with your family or picnic in the boat house. There is no fee - but it's such a great spot - we have a membership (which gives us discounts on the plant sale - wholesale prices plus 20% discount! - and other things).

The hydrangas in early summer should not be missed! So southern!

“Go when things are blooming unless you hike”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

The only thing really blooming were the roses in the rose garden. It's a beautiful place to hike and trail walk but to see flowers you would have to go at a different time of the year. Take water and drinks with you the place you can get them at were closed. An angel of mercy brought us popsicles and saved our lives, we had just left the zoo so we were close to exhausted. Two weddings were happening while we were there.

“A walk to the EAST (Japan)”
Reviewed June 13, 2012

The Botantical Garden is has various garden experiences. Favorite = Japanese Garden with bridge of life which is zigzagged like reality. The bonsai exhibit is a little run down. But rest is lovely.
