Took the family to Bahama Bobs last night. All went well. The wait was much shorter than advertised. The pecan crusted fish was tasty. Fried pickles..nicely done. No complaints from the burger portion of the family. Two salads were ordered in the group-probably best to get your greens somewhere else though...not so good. The staff was friendly and efficient. Oh - definitely best to use the restroom prior to getting to Bobs - it is dirty and in shambles. Probably past time for Bob to re-invest in the business...the facility is more creekie than a pile of fries.

The "Pangus" they specialize in is a cheap imposter of local catfish. It is imported from Southeast Asia so clearly nothing fresh or local about it. Had the popcorn shrimp and grilled shrimp. The popcorn shrimp tasted old and frostbitten. Clearly not fresh or even frozen fresh. The breading had no flavor. The bahama bob drink is just rum, orange and pineapple juice with 151. No flavor except the 151. I couldn't finish it. The bahama mama was much better, but nothing to write home about. The best part of the meal was the french fries. Who wants to go to a restaurant and wait an hour for french fries. Best part, 2 people, no drinks and almost $50!! We paid for our $20 drinks earlier while waiting for our names to be called. Clearly fake overhyped frozen impostor. I did not see what all the hype was about with this place!!

We had to stand in line for hours and never gained entry. Everytime we went there it was a mob of people. It must be the most popular place on the whole beach, so, after Friday we finally gave up on Bahama Bob's

We arrived around 4:30 p.m. with no wait time. We ordered the Nassau Grilled Striped Pangus and Great Stirrup Grilled Shrimp - so gooood! It is just a small place, but we love it.

A typical "on the beach" restaurant. Although sitting on the patio you can barely see the ocean. Great view of the sand! The wait for a table just before the dinner hour can be very long. I suggest you arrive at non peak hours. The food is a little above average. The Gumbo is great. Prices aren't bad and its a family friendly place. I recommend you stay away from the steamed shrimp unless you like to remove the vein yourself. Overall, a good find in Gulf Shores.
