We have visited Waterville numerous times over the years and even though we always complain about the lack of concession windows being open, AND the price of the food/drinks, they never listen. Our solution the last couple of years? BRING A COOLER!
We bring a large cooler filled with sandwiches, drinks, water, Go-gurts, etc. and a shopping bag filled with chips and cookies. We leave the cooler in the back of the SUV and everyone comes out at lunchtime to eat. It's tailgating ... without the grill. We even bring chairs to be comfortable. We make sure we get there early enough to get a good parking space near the building so it's convenient, even if we just come out to grab some water.
Given the price of their food and the long wait to get it (why have 10 Concession windows if you're only going to utilize two?????), it's TOTALLY worth it to bring your own food/drinks.
The park is a lot of fun but not big enough to rationalize paying $30 a person. Can you say Big Kahuna (in Destin)? Now THERE is a park worth $30!
Lastly, all they seem to hire here is obnoxious teens that are forever chatting each other up as opposed to actually being useful. Oh well, I guess management will continue turning a blind eye to this until a small child drowns or someone falls off a giant waterslide.
