We had a great time at this zoo! We enjoyed animal encounters with kangaroos, lemurs, and reptiles. The zoo is small, but very nice and well-kept. I definitely recommend. You won't spend all day here, but it's a great activity after a morning on the beach!

“So much fun!”

I love taking kids to the Gulf Coast Zoo. The zoo is small but there is lots to see. It's just the right size for kids to see before they get to tired. Many of the animals can be petted or even fed with zoo food.

“Sad animals:( small enclosures, closed exhibits.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013 via mobile

I was very disappointed in this experience. I called the day before our visit to make absolutely sure that my son would have a chance to see and pet a large turtle. I was told there was a reptile encounter and that was part of that experience. I told the lady would would be coming the next day. When we arrived the admission was more than was on the web site, the snack bar was closed and when we finally got to the very end where the turtles were the encounter was chained closed! My husband went in to ask about it and was told that that was not open that day. This would have been nice to know before we paid (that all of the park was not open as the bird house also closed) so that we could have decided if we wanted to come back another day.
On top of all of that these poor animals are in the smallest cages with no room to move at all. It was very sad and we will not be back. I wanted to cry walking around this place:(

“Good for price”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013

Visited the zoo while in town. We enjoyed ourselves however we couldn't help but notice it seemed a little run down. The bird house was very sad as it looked like most of them were sick. The staff wasn't friendly and actually a bit rude. It was a fair price to enterain the family for a day but most likely won't be back.
