I stayed in a two bedroom lakeside cabin over Labor Day weekend with some friends and had a blast. The cabin was just the right size for us, with everything we needed. It was clean and well kept and only minutes from the beach. We especially loved sitting out on the screened in porch, playing board games in the evenings.

Our first night, we accidentally locked ourselves out while we had some brownies cooking in the oven. We called the office, and someone came to let us back in in just a few minutes!

I highly recommend the Gulf Shores cabins - We plan to make this an annual trip.

We just loved our cottage. It was our first trip to Gulf Shores and the cottage was huge and very clean. Just beautiful. The screen deck was one of my favorite places both morning and evening. Great view of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach it up at night. Very cool breeze, very quiet. The Gulf State Park beaches are by far the best. We had no problems and everyone was friendly. Would definately recommend and came real close to booking for next year. I really like the outlet malls. The only thing Gulf Shores needs are some shops that sell local crafts. They seem to have plenty of the silly souvenir shops but not any that sell locally made souvenirs. Only complaint about the cottage from the family is we wished the bedrooms would have had tv's in them.

We took our first ever family vacation here. I spent several days on the internet pricing different locations, condos, beach houses, and hotels. I wanted our first vacation to be great. I was leary about booking a "cabin" I hadn't seen, but the price was the best. The 3 bedroom "cabin" we had was BEAUTIFUL!! HUGE!! And, very well equiped.
We wanted for nothing. Food, shopping, and the beach close, but not too close to make you hate it. Plenty of linens for our stay. Coffee every morning on the screened in porch that over-looked the lake was amazing. Plenty of room between "cabins" to not hear the neighbors (if there were any). We had an excellent vacation and will be coming back yearly to this heaven on earth.

Great little cabin. It is very secluded and quiet. Nice and clean! Close to the beach, lake, downtown, and everything else you may want to do. I just loved it. Couldn't beat the price. $499.50 for 7 days.
Few things to remember... bring extra towels, an alarm clock, and extra pillows.

We stayed at the brand new cottages in May 2006 and they are unbelievably nice for a state park. They are 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, with a huge dining/living area, and three porches(two of which are screened). They are right on Lake Shelby where you can enjoy boating or fishing. They look like they were decorated by someone at Southern Living---granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, built-ins for lots of stuff storage.

LOVED IT!!!!

We stayed at the Gulf Shores State Park and it was great. The rooms needed some upgrades, but you couldn't bet the view or the quiet. Watch out for the jellyfish.
