Went the Oyster House on a vacation in the Gulf Shores. The complex where the restaurant is pretty big. They have a store and some other places you can walk around and browse/shop while waiting for your table. This is a popular place so the wait can get long.

The food was pretty good. We had the garlic parmesan oyster and the homemade fried cheese. Both were very good. For the entrees we had fried shrimp, stuffed crab, fried fish, etc. All the items were good and enjoyed the overall experience.

I had the fried red snapper, wife had the fried flounder. For a Southern Restaurant we expected some good fried fish. It wasn't bad it just lacked seasoning. My son had the fried chicken and that was pretty tasty. Sides were good but nothing spectacular, Highlight was the hushpuppies which were really good. Service was decent but next time in town I think we'll try a different place

A over rated over priced restaurant with OK seafood! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The service was great but for a family of 5 paying $130.00 for OK seafood it was very disappointing.

Other reviews are dead on, be sure you get there early! We got there right at 5 and while there was a small wait, we just opted to eat at the bar. Oysters were just so-so. The food was good, pretty typical. The sides though were awesome! Cheese grits may have been more cheese than grits, but who cares?! It made them the best I've ever had. Red beans were super smokey and just so good.

Well worth the wait! And it was nice having little shops to go in while we waited. We had a party of 7 and were seated by a window and got to watch the sunset. Our waitress was fantastic! Very friendly & willing to accommodate. The menu had a ton of stuff that I wanted to try. I got the create your own with stuffed shrimp & grilled mahi and sides of the cheese grits and red beans & rice. Everything was great! Everyone at the table was pleased with what they got. The ones that got the salad bar said it had lots of good choices. We got the peanut butter pie for dessert & it was fantastic too. The best dining experience we had while at the beach.
