Owner description: Gulf State Park's two miles of beaches greet you with plenty of white sun-kissed sand, surging surf, seagulls and sea shells, but there is more than sand and surf to sink your toes into. Inside Gulf State Park there is a championship golf course, new beach pavilion, rental cottages, tennis courts, camp sites, hiking trails, Zip Line, and a fishing pier that is 20-feet wide and extends 1,512 feet into the Gulf. This and much more make Gulf State Park the perfect in-state vacation or out-of-state adventure.

It's easy to park and has a nice area to picnic. It's also nice to have a restroom & showers.

“love the pier”
Reviewed January 22, 2012

It's pleasant just to sit on a bench, watch the pelicans and watch the porpoises. There were lots of fishermen, but they weren't catching many fish.

“Beautiful white sand beaches-”
Reviewed December 30, 2011

this is a very special place. I grew up in the area and have been to hundreds of beaches since - i am always amazed at the beauty of the Alabama Gulf Coast. it does seem to be developing too fast though. The friendliness of the people make it extra special as well.
