Family was really looking forward to eating here. They are always crowded. Looked like a fun place. Went for lunch. Not crowded at all. Had a great waitress (Nicole). We have a couple of picky eaters and she accommodated them nicely, even having steamed broccoli remade (daughter won't eat salt and even though she specifically said she wanted her broccoli plain - nothing on it, it still came with salt). Other than the great view which it definitely has, not much else would draw me back (unless I were still in college - which I am not). Food definitely only mediocre, even the hamburger and fries. To sum it up, if you want to try the Hangout for a cocktail and to check out the view go for it. If you are looking for great food, stop for cocktail and go elsewhere for dinner. Too many great restaurants in Gulf Shores.
