We recently stayed at the Plantation East in Building 3. While some of the building's common areas are showing signs of wear and tear, our specific condo was spectacular. The outdoor/indoor pools are great, and the hot tubs are good to (albeit a little hot). Our condo was an approximate 100 yard walk to the beach and at the time the complex was about 10% full.
The fishing is great at the beach and across the road in Mobile Bay. I also enjoyed going to the pier in Ft. Morgan (5 miles away) to fish. The complex is gated with friendly security. The primary residents at the time we were there were 60-70s year old couples.
I truly like the lack of crowds and tighly packed condos at the Plantatation. I have been to the Plantation both times during the off season and have at times found our family to be the only ones on the beach.
We also went to the Naval Aviation Museum in Pennsacola (Free- 40 minutes) . It was a great trip.
