“no maps or guidance on the trails...good luck!”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

Proceed with caution if you are going to do the hike around the gorge in the park...it leads you to believe that it is a 1.5 mile loop, but we spend 2+ miles hiking and came to a dead end and had to turn around and go back the way we came (back around behind the falls, which is beautiful)...the trails are not marked or maintained, so enter at your own risk. We didn't care for the touristy stuff, like the train or the village or petting zoo, but the small kids around us loved it. It's a great family park that you could spend all day at (bring a picnic lunch) since they let you come/go with a wristband. If all you care about is seeing the falls, then don't bother going in the park--you can see the falls from outside it.

“Gorge Trail Problems”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

I am a landscape photographer. I have visited under normal water conditions only to find the trails into the gorge closed. That is a HUGE disappointment. It is however a great park for families to visit. It is kind of touristy but that is why it is a family attraction. If you want a waterfall that isnt spoiled by development you will have to look around to some of the lesser known falls.

“Nice place!”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

This was our first visit to the park. I was under the impression that you had to pay to enter the park but there is a lot you can experience for free. Our daughter loved the up close experience with the geese and ducks. The waterfall was beautiful. The playground is great. I wasn't sure we were ever going to get her to leave. Jack's is nearby also if you want to grab a bite to eat or take some food over to the park for a picnic.

“Very nice park”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

The park was actually closed when we were there for a BBQ festival, but they let us in to walk around. It was a beautiful location and the story behind it is heartbreaking.

“Nice place to stay a couple nights”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

We stayed here two nights in a 35' 5th wheel. We drove about an hour out of our way to see this park and were glad we did. For the price, it was a very nice campground -- clean restrooms, shaded sites, very nice hiking trails. The falls are a few hundred feet away from the campsites and are beautiful. The park is a block away from the campground and worth the $4 senior discount for a day to visit -- especially the hike down to, and behind (underneath) the falls.
