I enjoyed lunch at the Courtyard Cafe the other day with some friends. It had been some time since my last visit and it was better than ever! This is great food, carefully prepared and plentiful! I like to call it "home cooked southern sophistication." If you go there for lunch, be aware that the choices include entrees like country fried steak, hamburger steak, fried chicken and the like. Each entree is served with delicious cornbread and the vegetables that are available that day......you dont choose your vegetables. The other day, the sides were black eyed peas, cheesy oven potatoes, fried green tomatos, and peach cobbler for desert. Even though black eyed peas are not my favorite, I have to say that everything was truly fantastic! If you are in downtown Gadsden, you must visit the Courtyard Cafe.

We went on Fri at lunch. It was $7.25 for meat, 4 veg and dessert, tea is $1. 50, so to those reviewers who said it was NOT affordable, I'd love to know where you are getting a plate lunch for less! I had meatloaf, husband had fried chicken boneless breast. Both came with, slaw, pintos, fried green tomato slice, Mac and cheese, corn bread, pineapple cobbler and cuke/ onion/ tomato salad.

Try the fried green tomatoes in a wasabi sauce.. Yummm
It is located in the heart of gadsden and in the center for cultural arts. Best to see the exhibits followed by lunch or dinner. Great choices of wine, a bar and an amazing lunch menu too.

The restaurant is part of an office building. The food was good, and the servings were huge. Will go back next time I visit,

Great! The lunch came with 4 sides and cobbler for under eight dollars. Worth a stop. Great waitress, too
