“We love small towns!!”

The Columbus Street Inn is a nice place to stay. It is in a good location close to town. Mary and Ben are the nicest people you would ever want to meet. Breakfast is served at 7:30 each morning. Mary's waffles are listed in Alabama's 100 foods to eat before you die. Go there and enjoy the pleasures of a home away from home.

We have been a frequent visitor to this outstanding B&B. Ben and Mary are gracious, friendly, efficient hosts, who consistently provide a wonderful "family" experience. The facility is historically interesting, neat as a pin, and "homey". Mary provides an amazing variety of gourmet breakfasts that cause you to want to rush to the dining room to see what the sumptous meal will be today; it will always be more than needed. The setting is elegant, and the service is supreme. All of the rooms are comfortable. The inn is quitly located in a pleasant part of town. We look forward to our next trip.

Room Tip: We have stayed in every room, and they are all winners.

The Hightowers are great hosts that go out of their way to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the breakfasts are second to none. We have stayed here in the past and will stay again.

Great folks.

Room Tip: at present there are four rooms, two in the main house, and two in the cottage. My wife prefers the...

This is an outstanding bed and breakfast and a couple of reasons that stand out in my mind is #1- The Breakfast that Mary makes in the morning is beyond words. She puts her fine dishes out and has a variety of breakfast nibbles (fruit, yogurt) before she brings out the main course of the menu item for the day. She makes incredible waffles and omelets and one serving is enough for two people. For being a bed and breakfast, the 'little extras' needed for a business traveler have been considered such as proper lighting and electrical outlets. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was decorated nicely and had a floor heater to turn on before getting in the shower or tub. The location is off of a main road and behind the B&B is a wooded area. This B&B is a hidden gem!

Columbus Street Inn is awesome! Ben & Mary are great. They were warm and friendly, and made you feel like you are personal friends. The breakfast was unbelievable the presentation look like something out of a southern and gourmet magazine. The rooms are large and clean and the location is great. I think I found a home at Columbus Street Inn when I travel to Fayatte. I can"t wait to take other friends and family.

When I read the glowing reviews on this site for the Columbus Street Inn, I thought if it lived up to HALF the great things said, this B&B would be worth it. The owners made the stay very easy from the beginning, when I was able to quickly make a reservation online, followed up immediately by a confirmation and instructions for our after-hours arrival from Mary.

The room was great and it was clear much consideration had been taken in making the guest's stay a comfortable one. Staying during Christmas was a treat because everything was decorated so beautifully that it really put me in the spirit of the holidays. I would guess they don't do anything halfway!

And the food! The reviews do not do justice to what you can expect at breakfast. The fruit was not an afterthought, but instead a perfectly fresh highlight to the meal all by itself. And I truly thought Mary must have trained as a chef after tasting what she had managed to create that first morning; but if so, she has kept it from her husband. :) So often at hotels and even at very good restaurants, breakfast is predictable and little care is taken to make it anything other than filling. But at Columbus Street Inn, you will remember what you had, probably tell other people about it all day, and miss it when you have to go home.

Mary & Ben Hightower's friendly & warm manner make you feel right at home in this charming & comfortable historic home. There's nothing like waking up to the delightful smells of coffee & bacon! The breakfasts are truly amazing and the best we've had in our many stays in bed & breakfast across the country. Not only is the food incredibly delicious but the presentation is equally impressive!

The Fredericksburg room is quite comfortable & very large, and the private bathroom is well equipped. The living room is inviting & well stocked with videos & books for the guests' enjoyment.

The Columbus Street Inn is more than enough reason to visit Fayette!

Room Tip: Sweet Diggs Restaurant (open only for lunch) is a must!
